No one knows how it was discovered, but before anyone even got to the cemetery, some maintenance people or caretakers showed up and put a chain and lock on the gate. I've been to this place a few times before just to take pictures of the headstones, and I've never seen another person there, let alone the gates locked. But this time it was. As an added bonus, they were standing on a pick-up truck and told us the police had been called, we'd be arrested if we set foot inside, and they would shoot us with their shotgun which was full of rocksalt. We ended up going to a local park to do the shoot instead.

The thing that confuses us is how they found out about it. The popular theory is that someone who wasn't apart of the shoot, or someone who just wanted to ruin the experience found a way to contact the proprietors and let them know we were coming. Likely they also said that we would be vandalizing the property, which would kind of explain the overreaction. This seems like a more reasonable reaction to people who posed a threat as opposed to people who wanted to take photos. Someone went to a lot of work to contact these people though. I found no contact info online, and the only thing there is at the cemetery is a sign that says, "close the gate when you leave."
