A fair bit? Sounds right from what he says. ACIII was terrific in small spurts, but I never finished it and looking back one big thing in this rant is true: I almost have to go for 100% in all AC games, but it was just so flipping daunting from all the excess junk that I put the game back on my shelf. I really had better things to do. WinkWink

Oh yeah I agree. But the scale of chaos was surpising to me. With that level of disorganization the game hould have ended up in battlefiedl 4 land.

they are still hilarious.

They're probably funnier to me because of that, but they just appeared at random on Windows 8 news service app. My diarrhea has cleared up a lot from mid December to now. It used to be awful, now it's like once a week, maybe. Or twice.

GAF

PS2 155 million

PSP 76 million units

PS3 80 million

PS Vita 4 million

I thought PS2 was around 120 million guess I was mistaken. So they lost 75 million units?

I was bored, so was reading the Iwata statement on revised sales estimates. It's not all about sales, for instance because of foreign exchange rates, manurfacting costs actually rose, so in combination with making a price cut it actually cost them more to produce the same products, which they were then selling for less. But even then they were expecting ordinary income.

This part was interesting:

Iwata said:

We expect that we will post ordinary income despite the operating loss situation. This is because we now assume that the yen will be weaker than our original assumptions at the beginning of the fiscal year, and re-evaluation of assets and liabilities denominated in foreign currencies owned by Nintendo Co., Ltd. at the end of the fiscal year as well as foreign exchange gains at the time of cash receipts and conversions of foreign funds into yen, among other factors, are expected to exceed the projected operating loss.

On the other hand, we expect to post a net loss despite expecting ordinary income mainly because we need to reverse deferred tax assets in relation to the losses carried over from the previous fiscal years mainly in the United States, as we can no longer expect our financial performance to recover in the current fiscal year.

So it seems they expect ordinary income for the year and that their foreign exchange gains actually outweigh the projected operating losses. But they expect a net loss because they have to reverse deferred tax asset losses from previous fiscal years in the U.S.A.

Why buy Rare again?  Just start a new company and give 'em a shit name like "Medium" or "Well-Done."

Because you could restock that studio with a shitload of new people, and people who left by luring them back from Crytek UK, and basically have an entire generation like one big nostalgic rekindled relationship between Ninty/Rare and pump out all manner of badass sequels...Perfect Dark 2, Conker 2, new Banjo, Star Fox Adventures 2, Jet Force Gemini 2, etc.

Sure, you could start a new studio, but would it have the emotional impact of actually having RAREWARE again? No. Plus, you already paid for the studio they have now in full before you sold them to Microsoft, and I want the fucking thing back.

BTW, I'm also having them make a new Viva fucking Pinata, just for Steelattack.

Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck.  My store is closed because there is no business license.  My buddy and I suspect that the store has been sold as well, so I figure no more job for me.  I still have $3000 left on that debt.   I'm hoping we can hold on till income tax returns come in and pay it off completely.  I have so many expenses, doctor's bills, things breaking at the moment.  It's going to be super tight...sigh

Ouch. Any chance anyone else could come along and open it up in the near future? Stores closing like that usually get opened up fairly quickly assuming there was steady traffic/customers. At any rate that sucks much. Hopefully the IRS won't delay income tax returns this year like last.

Not sure, we may still get a license, but I seriously doubt. I've probably got to find something for a few months, at least.  I can't believe I'm still stuck paying this bullshit, while my mother makes off like a bandit.
