Unless LA Noires story is amazing it's going to end up as one of the most overated games I've ever played.

Its cool but its definitely Rockstar's least interesting game IMO.

It's the kind of game I would make but the mechanics are so horrible here. It needs the Silent Hill Shattered Memories control scheme. I'm getting tired of these games getting mega props because the stories aren't like the usual juvenile videogame stuff.

Its an adventure game first and foremost. It just happens to have an open-world/sandbox setting. If you like adventure games I think it will win you over, particularly once you get into Homicide. It took me a little while to warm up to it but I ended up loving it. Close runner-up as my GOTY in 2011 or whenever it came out.

So what's with this Mantle thing?  It's starting to sound like AMD paid close attention to what both Sony and MS were doing with their new hardware and figured it'd be beneficial to copy/paste that onto the PC gaming scene?

It's one of those things you need to learn to love, right?  You know, first time I tried homicide...  Wasn't for me, but I hung on, and now I love me some homicide.

Beat Civilization 5...got the science victory by launching the first spacecraft into space. Also nuked the Germans just for the hell of it.

Great game...I'd give it a solid 8.8 rating.

This is what it's like in the uk:

A supermarket. Nintendo games section so small it's actually placed in the 360 section. With a choice of 1 wii u game to buy. You can't walk into a store and just find the game you want. And our national chain sold off half it's stores. It's no suprise that U is selling so badly in the uk, it's not even there for people to buy.

Have we not talked about steam machine here. It sounds like a crappy mess. Runs on linux so a ton of games dont work on it yet, the box lets you stream the game from your PC to your tv which begs the question why do I need this box if I already have a PC that can run the games...

GG the wii U section at many stores here are almost as bad. Kmart has no Wii U section, they maybe get 3 copies of any one Wii U game and they randomly throw it in the shelf. The Best Buy space gets smaller and smaller.

Have they shown the new hardware yet? I thought Steam OS was the first part of 3 announcements?

Has it diminished to that or has it been like that since day 1? Because here it was like that at launch too. No hardware on sale either. The only game store within travelling distance is for used games and tbh the industry can reap what they sow as this used game shops prices are shitting on them and I'm increasingly using them.

The supermarket game shelve situation is sad in general. Disregarding the extreme Nintenshafting. They started to try and sell games, undercut the specialist shops and put them out of business or drastically reduced their business. Now all we're left with is the shitty selection some knob head buyer decides to throw up on a whim. Or only the most populist stuff, COD, FIFA, HALO etc

I've had to buy games online since I left the UK mainly (except for the times when I was back in the UK) but now it seems it's the only option for a lot more people regardless of where they live.  It's not just cheaper, for some games it's the only way to get them

Mikami says REmake sold poorly and that's why they went more action? I was always under the impression that REmake sold pretty well for a Cube launch window game that was a remake of an old PS1 game. Didn't it sell over a million?

As for Wii U shelf space....lol that UK pic is hilarious....what is the point if that's all you're going to have? While over here its nowhere near that bad, in all honestly Nintendo has gotten the shaft on retail space since the Gamecube era. Once XBOX came into the picture, retail space went from a 50/50 split between Sony and Nintendo with a small SEGA section, to basically Microsoft taking the space of Nintendo and Nintendo taking the place of SEGA, and SEGA being out of the game.

Even when the Wii was selling boatloads, they still didn't have the retail presence that Microsoft or Sony had. And with XBOX, it was INSTANT. As soon as they began promoting XBOX back in 2001, that's all you saw in any game store or retail chain. XBOX XBOX XBOX with barely a mention of Gamecube. Its pretty much continued to this day.

Yeah...REmake sold 1,350,000 and RE Zero sold 1,250,000....just looked it up. That's not too bad if you ask me.

Not the 3 million that RE  sold on the Playstation 1, but still pretty damn good on a console with 25% of the userbase.

According to the news the UK has more than any other European country turned towards online shopping and that's why our high streets have suffered.

It sold about the same as the Wii RE games which according to Capcom was great. For the budget.

Weird thing is that it was better during the gamecube days here. Seriously I go into a store to get a game, lets say Splinter Cell, Wonderful 101 or something and the store has a lone single game representing an entire platform? Impulse buying is immediately castrated. I don't know about other people but online shopping sometimes makes me tighter with my money because I have to go through all the steps to make an order and wait days for it in the post. When I am in a shop with cash in my hand I get impulse buy fever. But due to there being no stock whatsoever of whatever game I end up not getting it? It's like they don't want my money. At least have it at a counter or something in the backroom.
