Since Final Fantasy is dead I am happy that they are trying the action RPG route. They have to do something. Personally I would have started with firing Nomura, but at least they are doing SOMETHING to kickstart FF.
What would you guys want FF to be now? Turn based battles like the old days?
I would love a new FF in a more fantasy setting with a more traditional combat system but I don't even know what that would look like. Turn based is done.
I would like them to go back to the ff6 style and make new entries for 3DS/DS and Vita (think Mega Man 9). Branch the series into what would have happened if Nomura never lived. Hire the Gooch as a consultant. Call the series "Final Fantasy 6", so the first game would be FF 6.1 and so on...
For the PC, stick to MMO, they can turn around 14. SOE is great at PC MMO.
For the consoles... go back to the FFX characters and make it a third-person action game and give it to their Tomb Raider team. Give up on console RPGs. It's over.
Tomb Raider team is, thankfully, too busy to make FF games right now, but I do agree with your concept.

I prefer the old school FF games. I LIKE the newer games and LOVE the old games. To me, FF always had the most enjoyable turn based combat and they did it right where most other RPG's had systems you had to just deal with in order to enjoy the rest of the game. There was not so much need for FF to change.
I really looking forward to replaying FF 10 and 10two....IDK maybe I'm just an old school gamer who doesn't know what is the cool thing to like anymore. Frankly, I don't give a fuck. I'll take my old school FF and enjoy the shit out of it. I know what I like, that's all that matters!
With The Last of Us under my belt, that marks 1205 lifetime finished games...

It was daytime and he purposely got into alert phase, he had god mode on so he couldn't die. THE SHIT THAT HAPPENED. Helicopters blowing up! Snake fighting off like 25 dudes at once. Snake versus tank which Snake won. Car escape with people firing rockets at him. It was just everything I love about insane alert phases in MGS. Just that demo area alone I would put in 20 hours easy.
Blood splat color drain damage and regen does suck though.
And we get another presentation in 2 hours for MS this time. Word is its different again!
