I would stay clear of GTAV, thats like an atomic bomb going off, nothing around it will get attention. Now if they are like "PS4 on GTAV launch day with the PS4 version of GTAV!!!" Its the end of mankind as we know it.

Can anyone see Nintendo ditching the Wii U early in favor of another console? I can't really see that happening, no matter how it sells.
If last generation is anything to go by, the PS4 era could end up being 8 years long. That's enough time for the Wii U to become profitable for Nintendo even if it doesn't light the world on fire through killer 1st party games. On the other hand, its also enough time for Nintendo to release a stronger console than the competition years before they are ready to move on, if they choose to go that way.
I still think the Wii U just needs more games. Its not the most powerful machine, but its powerful enough to produce beautiful games. It has everything a console needs to be great. It just needs AAA games to make the wait for a more reasonable price point sting less. It could definitely use a really hyped up AAA "one of the best games ever made" kind of games though, something like Metroid Prime was in 2002. That is something is just doesn't have. The Gamecube also had the hype of having the Resident Evil series....Wii U has no such AAA 3rd-party franchise.
But as I said, if Nintendo wanted to cut out 3 or 4 years from now, which would be close to a normal cycle anyway---they could replace the U with a console that beats the competition 3 or 4 years before they are ready to move on. Its an interesting spot to be in.
Waiting for PC version.
I hope Nintendo doesn't abandon the Wii U. I'm about to pick one up soon. I do hope their next console is equal in power to the PS5 and Xbox Two.
