Well, then. I'm certainly glad I disabled automatic updates after that God of War fiasco a couple weeks ago.
I really do wish game consoles would go back to just being game consoles again. I never had to update my Atari 2600, Sega Genesis, Saturn, 32X, SNES, TG-16, Sega CD, 3DO, Jaguar, Lynx, DS, GCN, N64, or PS1, and you know what? They all worked just fine.
Whhhhaat???
Goddamnit. I was really hoping MS would go through with that awful online DRM requirement. I really wanted to see what would happen. Would consumers ignore the console, and let it die? Or would they bend over and let MS have at it just to play Halo 5? Now we'll never know.

I honestly don;t know what is funnier. MS flip-flopping after E3 or the Sony conf making fun of them... Either way, great news for me and most other consumers. Here in Australia there is only $50 seperating them, so now the only advantage Sony has, besides their superior exclusives, is their region free-ness (which is a big deal down here). But now I know I will eventually get a Xbox 3 at some point and be able to play their games forever.

I'm still not buying the Xbox One.
The fact that they said all this shit and can't even back up their own bullshit almost unnerves me & pisses me off as much as the bullshit in the 1st place. They showed their true colors, and now they are trying to change their tune completely only a few weeks later for the simple reason that they figured out how much money they were about to lose...not save.
Still going PS4, Wii U, and PC...and still not going to miss out on much.
