Rumor: Sony to abandon DualShock design for PS4
Boo! If true. The DS3 is a near-perfect controller, IMO. Just make the triggers concave instead of convex, and it will be perfect.
Yep I'll agree with this (though they can get rid of the motion control part which is just worthless). It's my favorite controller and I will be very sad to see it go.
Agreed.
But also... fix the D-pad. It's better than the 360's but could still be much better
What motion control? Oh, that! It always makes me chuckle whenever I encounter a token implimentation of it

I would eat that chick's cornhole for breakfast.
But its coming to the consoles...
Isn't the rumor that they are making their own version of the Wii U Gamepad? So it'll probably be a dual shock with a screen.
I know, but since I work every Saturday and Sunday, I need something to occupy my time while there(here).
There are so many rumors flying around with their new controller. Sony is struggling to find their place these days so I wouldn't put it past them to try and follow Nintendo's path and have some kind of touch screen. The closest thing they've had to a strategy is "Do what they do with MORE POWER!" But I also think they're going to try and find some way to more closely integrate the Vita with the PS4 in an attempt to give the Vita a shot in the arm, and a touchscreen pad that's closely modeled after the Vita would go a long way in doing that. Then again I think it would be just as likely to kill all interest in it. It's not like the Wii U pad has been a real revolution in gameplay yet.
Hey Travo, did you get a chance to play (and complete) Journey yet? Got to admit I'm curious to see which camp you'll fall into after playing it.
I played all of five minutes, after spending fifteen minutes downloading the game and updates. So far, I learned to jump and glyde, lit up some statues and that's it.
. . . yeah that pretty much sums it all up. You can also do all of that with another person at the same time.
Revutionary!
I'm really loving Skyward Sword now. I'd have to say this is the best Zelda since Majora's Mask, the overall pacing and level design is beyond anything in Wind Waker or Twilight Princess. To me, this is the real star here, not the controls (which do work well for the most part).
I just beat the Temple of Time, which was amazing. The way the landscape changes is brilliant...fuck this game would have been THE best looking game out there if it was on the Wii U. I really dig the companion character, Fi, too. Much cooler than Nazi, err, I mean Navi.
This one is going to score highly. Would have been on my GOTY list had I played it in 2011.
Hmmmmm.... guess it's time to add it to the Gamefly Q.
Speaking of Zelda, I played a little bit of Phantom Hourglass last night. I now remember why I disliked that game before: touchscreen-only controls. Seriously, WTF, Nintendo?
I'm looking forward to an original 3DS
Zelda, but I'm afraid Nintendo will pull that crap.
Phantom Hourglass was a marvelous game.
I realise I'm in the minority of people who enjoyed both DS Zelda games. Thought Phantom Hourglass was quite good and Spirit Tracks even better. I didn't mind the controls, they worked well enough to not get in the way of me enjoying the game
Likewise looking forward to seeing Zelda on the 3DS. Either original or Majora's Mask 3D. Either would be welcome ... ideally both.
Hmmm, don't know why I didn't play Skyward Sword. I guess by that stage I just got used to ignoring the Wii existed
