You wouldn't do something as silly as go to a Batman premier.
It's finally OK to joke about that?
Seriously though, I'm avoiding midnight screenings FOREVER. Unless they are showing some sort of double feature of horror or exploitation films.
About Batman sucking? Yes.
Who is joking? Batman does suck.
And Satan, bullets don't work on you. Believe me, I tried. If a priest bursted in and sprayed holy water. Then maybe I would have been worried!
That's because you've had guns littered about the country through years of no gun control. Here if you want a gun you have to be in the police and only in the armed division, or you have to live on a farm or the countryside and prove why you need a gun. Then you can only get a buck shotgun and you need to have background checks and psychological checks, past history and all that. Otherwise there are gun clubs but they are rare and strictly controlled. Real criminals will find a way to get guns but because our police are not allowed to carry guns they know they do not really need them. It's safer all around. We still have shooting sprees, more recentely but usually less people die compared to other countries. Look at that Brevik fuck, one man stomped about an island with a couple of guns and slaughtered like 72 people. Without a gun you could have kicked him in the crotch or smashed a rock in his face.
IMO that's why you need gun control. There's always someone out there who will snap and it's better if they snap with a baseball bat or knife than a gun.
The guy dressed up like the Joker. There will always be psychos in this world.
From what the articles say it's not that they think they were treated unfairly, but that MS did not know how to manage them and changed internal structures and systems which changed the culture of Rare. From the sounds of it, from what Ken Lobb said it was MS's fault that Nintendo had to let them go, due to the bidding process and then the Stampers had this huge windfall of cash and lost all motivation to excel with the company, sitting out their contracts as the employees said. Rare also thought they were hot shit at the time and didn't realise how influential Nintendo had been in the partnership.
Basically Nintendo had the first option to buy the remaining shares but they had to match what others were offering. So MS and Activision were in a bidding war, Activision dropped out suddenly but then MS bid really high so that Nintendo couldn't match them and exercise their first buy option.
The optimist proclaims we live in the best of all possible worlds
while the pessimist fears this is true.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nintendo COULD have matched MS...they just didn't WANT to. If there's any truth to the rumors about them trying to get them back, its only because they have a lot less value now than they did 10 years ago. So they can get them cheaper.
Take away a man's right to protect himself, and have the government do it for you. But then what happens when the government takes too much control?
Has anyone ever tried the Mercenaries 2 hair gel? Its quite pleasant.
Weekend Game Deals courtesy of PCGAMER.com
STEAM
Looked broke, didn’t I? Well, I wasn’t. But it wasn’t from lack of trying, I can tell you that. Actually, Steam’s last sale put me in the red — a debt I wasn’t to repay for one year. When it came back, I went on what the forum posters refer to as “a roaring rampage of purchases.” I roared, and I rampaged, and I got Civilization V for $7.49. I’ve bought a hell of a lot of games to get to this point, but I’ve only one more weekend. The last one. The one I’m looking forward to right now. The only one left. And when I arrive at my destination, I am gonna spill bills.
The Steam Summer Sale ends on Sunday! Here are a few recommendations based on the sale at the time of writing:
AMAZON
Many of last week’s deals have dissipated, but Amazon has made some nice additions to its discount roster, including several which beat Steam’s current price*. A few of those are The Walking Dead for $14.99, Serious Sam 3: BFE for $9.99, SSFIV: Arcade Edition for $9.99, and Mass Effect 2 for $14.02.
*Things change, so do double check!
GOG
GOG’s has discounted its Kalypso catalog by 50% for the weekend, meaning games like Tropico 3, Patrician 1+2, and Stronghold have crossed the threshold from considered purchase to impulse buy.
GameStop
GameStop’s own summer sale is still going, and it currently sports some pretty attractive deals, including Mass Effect 3 for $29.99 and Dragon Age Origins for $8.99.
EA Anti-Trust settlement is likely the biggest story of the week (story above).
EA is seeking to settle the matter, which was brought over their NFL, NCAA and AFL (Arena, not Australian) exclusivity deals.
They propose not licensing NCAA and AFL exclusively for 5 years and giving back $27 million to people who bought the games. Of course, they are doing whatever they can to not change anything relating to the NFL.
Judge gets to decide if the proposed settlement is fair this week.
You have been a great addition to the VGP regulars recently ... and this makes me like you a whole lot more.
PS Raven, I'm very happy you are alright. I thought about you being in Colorado the minute I heard the news and hoped you were OK
That EA story is so awesome. I get a few bucks cause they killed NFL2k. Not enough, I want more.
