Yeah but what's the point in using the same franchise if you totally change it? Then its really not what it was supposed to be anymore anyway. That's what creating something new is for in the 1st place.
BTW people, The Walking Dead the game is available for download today!
Guy #1 at Sony: Hey, I was thinking, you know how we have Warhawk and Blizzard has WarCRAFT?
Guy #2 at Sony: Yeah...why?
Guy #1: Well think about this; They also have STARcraft which became even bigger than Warcraft! So why don't we do the same thing and come out with StarHAWK?!
Guy #2: OMFG you are a genius!!!!
Oh my fucking word this game is going to be badass:
They are just playing Rovio Roulette. There is nothing wrong with making your platform appeal to any form of development. If you look at how the iPhone kept it's social momentum going through a cycle of popular games Fruit Ninja->Cut the Rope->Tiny Wings->Angry Birds->Words With Friends-> Draw Anything then you can see why Sony would want to try that as well.
Promoting indie won't exclude them from also pushing their heavy hitters, and ultimately, you don't have to buy them.
Ooooh must download
Everything about Hybrid smells of monumental disaster. I wish them well, but trying to re-invent shooting mechanics at this point in gaming is not likely to be well received.
I'm thinking (because of the multiple delays), that maybe it will be a part of the Summer of Arcade.
I started watching the fan made movie of the first Uncharted. I think I may go for a third replay of that game this week:
Well let me put this a different way. Indie games certainly have their place and hell I'm a big fan of a lot of them, but has anyone ever said "I'm going to buy this console for the great selecrion of indie developed titles?" My point is Sony doesn't have their core audienced squared up yet. There's a dozen different things they should be concerning themselves with. They need to figure out how to sell systems. Indie games don't sell system. They're icing on the cake.
Right now the Vita is not an "all types of games for all types of gamers" so it just doesn't make sense to try and make software with that in mind. If I were Sony I'd be focused on working with devs to create something that will get noticed and not something that will likely fly low on the radar and ultimately get ported to PC.
Well i just had the scare of my life. Child Protective Services came to my home tonight. Apparently my 5 year old told a teacher we punched him in the stomach and she had us reported. They had to interview all of us separately, and it seems they are convinced that he was just telling a story (rest assured we've never laid a hand on him). No shock, since this is the same kid who told us a vampire bee flew through his head and he fought a 150 pound snake on playground. Still it's scary as hell that an over zealous teacher could have possibly destroyed my family with just a phone call.
Disgusting. Thankfully it worked itself out.
That's the scary thing. I don't know if it has or not. The kids are still here so that's a good sign, but from what I've read it's almost impossible to ever determine whether or not its been resolved or if they keep you on some kind of watch list. I'm freaked out to say the least.
Can't comment on what it's like now (or in America for that matter) but 10-20 years ago they left you alone after they discovered nothing was wrong. Hopefully that hasn't changed too much.
I say you go find the teacher that reported you and PUNCH HER IN THE STOMACH!
**In all seriousness, I hope everything is OK!**
I'm going to the school in a couple days. Tomorrow is too soon and I can't guarantee I can keep my cool yet. I want to find out exactly what the school's policy is on this though, and find out if they just take a child at his word without questioning him further or not looking for any secondary signs of abuse.
In the meantime I'm just trying to relax and distract myself. How sad is it that I'm so nervous I'm being watched that I won't drink?
