But it's the other way round!
I found this quote funny from GAF about the Vigil statements on Wii U's power:
This can apply to the internet, not just Neogaf.
Wow, pictures of morons playing another dance game and flailing their arms about.....I'm so stoked for the Orbis!
Joking aside, it sounds like Sony may have the most powerful console again, which in and of itself doesn't mean much to me since I plan on doing most of my gaming on the PC anyway. But still, its interesting news. Now I just wonder if they will be stupid enough to again include some kind of cutting edge format system that will jack the price sky high? They still have plenty of time to copy Nintendo's controller, so we'll see what happens there. I can't see them using the PS1 controller for another generation...
Xbox 3 seems to be the middle man, perhaps not much more powerful than Wii 2 and not much less than PS4. If they use Kinect as their main selling point for the new machine however, I have no interest in that. In fact I think Microsoft is starting to run the risk of losing the interest of the hardcore gamer with the direction they've been heading lately, and they need to be very careful with what they plan on doing with the Nextbox.
And Nintendo...well more than likely they will definitely have the least powerful system, though still quite impressive in its own right. And they also have the uniqueness of the new controller, which I like alot and I can't wait to see what people do with it. Their online interface can only get better. And they seem to be aiming much more at the hardcore this time around.
So my viewpoint hasn't changed much; I'm still most excited about PC and Nintendo going into the next-generation.
When people want to convince themselves of the worst, they always go for the negative and ignore the positive. Happens here too.
The Kotaku article says they will be using a 2012 graphics card, unlike Wii U and Nextbox so they are already one up. What are those pictures? So PS4 uses Eyetoy, do you need eyetoy is it bundled and will it increase the price? And what is that touchpad in the diagrams? It can't be a controller? It looks like nonsense, the eyetoy puts up a dancing game and you record the video of your gal pals playing it with your handheld touchpad?
BTW, the article says there will be an anti used games lock on PS4 like on Nextbox. Wouldn't that piss you off?
Looks about right.
From what I remember, the Wii 2 is supposedly based on Radeon 4800 series cards, which is what I used to have in my PC. Its a powerful card, but some of the newer games are a bit much for it to max out, like Witcher 2. Its a 2008 card I believe. The card I have now is a Radeon 6950 model. Its a beast.
The Xbox is supposed to be a 5800 series card? So that would probably be a late 2009 model. And this new Sony seems to be based off the NEXT line of Radeon cards that aren't even out yet. Seems odd that Sony would even go this route, considering how much they've lost and how nobody else is.
As for used games...I don't really buy them much anyway, but yeah that is pretty cheesy.
Trying to think of what game to play. Help me out.
Just finished Mighty Switch Force so I can get into something new on the 3DS. Have Mario Land 3D waiting to be played and also received Kid Icarus the other day. Should also play more of Mario Kart 7 at some point as well.
Also need something for the PS3. The Orange Box disc is still in it from when I played Portal so I'm tempted to try and get back to Half-Life 2 and finish it, also perhaps play Episode 1 and 2 which are supposed to be quite short. Should also perhaps finish Shadows of the Damned - don't think I have that long left to go on that one.
Very tempted by Rayman Origins as well which I received for the 360 a few days ago. And want to by Sine Mora soon.
Not to mention I still haven't played Skyward Sword (and I was so looking forward to it as well), Last Story or Xenoblade.
Decisions, decisions, decisions ... my backlog is a nightmare

Listen to Wu-Tang and watch Kung-Fu
You have a lot to play so I would say marioland, each level can be done in a couple of minutes, it's easy pick up and play and you can complete it in no more than a couple of weeks or much less if you intensively play.
Something just doesn't sit right with Nintendo using a 2008 card. They do these innovations like the wii u pad or wii remote and they cost so much they have to go cheaper on the graphics because of it.
I'll be interested in seeing who, if anyone does a news article on the new THQ comments as everyone reported the "on par" story a few days back. So far no one outside of a couple of enthusiast Nintendo sites have the story up today about it being more powerful.
'Tens of billions' of planets in habitable zones
A scan of small, cool stars in the Milky Way suggests our galaxy has "tens of billions" of rocky planets located like Earth in zones where life can exist, European astronomers say.
The European Southern Observatory (ESO) says it found nine "super-Earths" in a sample survey of 102 stars known as red dwarves.
"Super-Earths" are rocky planets -- as opposed to gassy giants -- that orbit their stars in the so-called Goldilocks zone, where the temperature is neither too hot nor too cold but just right to have the potential to nurture life.
In this balmy region, the planet is neither scorched nor frozen, and water can exist in liquid form.
The ESO team used a powerful 3.6-metre (11.7-feet) telescope, known by its acronym of HARPS, at their observatory in Chile's Atacama desert.
"Our new observations with HARPS mean that about 40 percent of all red dwarf stars have a super-Earth orbiting in the habitable zone where liquid water can exist on the surface of the planet," said Xavier Bonfils of the Observatory of the Sciences of the Universe in Grenoble, southeastern France.
"Because red dwarves are so common -- there are about 160 billion of them in the Milky Way -- this leads us to the astonishing result that there are tens of billions of these planets in our galaxy alone," he said in an ESO press release issued on Wednesday.
By ESO's estimate, there could be around 100 "super-Earths" in stars less than 30 light years from Earth.
In cosmic terms, such distances are just a flea jump, but they are an impossible gap for Man to bridge with current space technology.
A total of 763 exoplanets, the term for a planet in another solar system, have been found since the first was detected in 1995, according to the Extrasolar Planets Encyclopaedia (http://exoplanet.eu/)
All we have to do now is find some mass relays and we're set.
I go home tomorrow! I can play on consoles. I dont even remember what that is like.
I am up for a game night one of these days. Am I seriously the only person to get the Uncharted 3 DLC pass? There is a ton of new stuff to play.
No, I suggest you get rid of the game post-haste. You can find my address in your inbox.
Get HL2 over and done with and move on to the almost decent Episodes.
