Good to know. I really came close to picking it up, but I figured it'd be better to wait on it. Sorry to hear its another disaster.  Maybe I'll check it out in another 6 months.

It sucks... badly! I was soooo excited that I could finally play a well-made Elder Scrolls game. I spent ALLLLLLL weekend pouring tons of hours into it, but things got kinda hairy last night and this morning and I started to research and read about WHY. How the FUCK do companies get away with this shit again and again and again?

No one should ever play Elder Scrolls on the consoles. The PC version always gets all the problem fixed by the mod community, even stuff that Bethesda never fixes. Only way to play it as far as I am concerned. Problems, gamers will fix it for you. All hail the master race.

I just give up. They SWORE up and down that crap like this (that ALSO happened in the Fallout games) wouldn't occur due to the new game engine... and here it is again. Now I see why they delayed sending the PS3 review copies out for a few days. It takes a few days time for these problems to start to appear. Worst thing of all is: Elder Scrolls games are made for extended playing, but the more you play this one, the larger the save files get and the worse the game performs. Lump on top of that Bethesda historically fixing PC and 360 first and then maybe getting to the PS3 eventually... if at all... fuck 'em! I'm done!

So its the same as Fallout NV. That game started off glitch free (after the patch) but as I played it started to fall apart, my save files were 9MB. Sad this happens again. I had my first freeze today and I expect freezing to happen much more frequent as time goes on.

Yeah, PS3 game save stuff is nightmarish. Too sleazy from Bethsoft if they actually held PS3 review copies because of this. 360 version for me it is, then.

Been playing GT5 for the past 3 days. Only ONE EVENT. The same one. And a two minute one at that. Last advanced challenge at Daytona, 2 final laps.

>_<

At this time, it has become more of a personal thing to gold the event. But it has everything I hate in GT games, with the unwelcome addition of being NASCAR, the worst possible type of race of all time in the universe. It has that obnoxious trend of GT games of placing you dead last on the racing line. "11 cars in the race? HAVE THE 11TH PLACE, FUCKER!", AI flies through the race impervious to crashes among themselves or against the barrier, while I get disqualified if I even touch a bumper or the side of a car. Hell I've even been disqualified when another car BUMPED ME while driving in a straight line.

From the start of the race, you need to draft (slipstream) a blue AI car that starts overtaking fools like a cheetah on meth. You fuck up, you get distracted or miss the slipstream for a second, and the blue car checks out and leaves you. If that happens, there's no way of ever catching up on the couple laps you're given. Manage to follow the AI car, and you have the chance of eventually catching up, provided you keep drafting it and start to overtake AI cars while drafting. One small bump and it's disqualification. One wrong turn or speed loss and the main group checks out and prances away at an aggravating speed.

I've managed to reach 2nd place, but that's about it. I've heard NASCAR stuff is easier with a wheel, but as of now I'm stuck with a controller and PD's obnoxious choice of doing things. In the past, NASCAR events were made more manageable by turning ABS (anti-lock braking system) off. Well, tough shit, PD (those evil fucks I hope they get anal herpes) decided to PATCH OUT the chance of turning ABS off, now you can only turn it down to 1. Who does that kind of shit? i'll tell you who, EVIL FUCKING PEOPLE, ANALLY OBSESSED,THAT'S WHO.

I know what to do, but the way of doing it with a controller is to drive perfectly, with no mistakes whatsoever and rely on a bit of luck to overtake the final 4 car group.

Does it at least follow the same line every time?

And tell me that it's just certain events that you can't turn ABS off on...

The only reason I got this on Xbox is cuz I obviously played Oblivion on it...I was toying with gettin it on PC which I'm sure is amazing, but I just moved into a new game room which blows my old one away and I have the perfect console setup now with insane surround sound and all so....probably not gonna be gettin' too much on PC unless its not optional from here on out.

But you're getting a 360 right? Cuz going forward I would definitely get most of the 3rd-party stuff on 360 as they do tend to be a bit better. Other games its kind of a toss up, for example I like playing Ass Creed on the PS3 for some reason.

When are you getting it? Definitely consider Blasting through the Halo series and Fable 2 1st off.....and now you can play Mass Effect 1 which obviously not as good as ME2 is still one of my favorites of the generation. ME is probably my favorite franchise of the generation really.

Somewhat, yes. But the last part is hit or miss.

And no. that applies to everything in the game.

Been playing a ton of the Halo remake, and having so much fun. Things still happen in this game differently each time I've played it. Unlike the static, set path of so many games nowadays....I totally prefer this style of gameplay. I love how they didn't fuck with the code....its the exact same game just with better graphics and sound laid over it. Nobody else has managed to improve on this game's fun factor...not even Bungie. So not changing it was very wise.

Again its amazing just how much this game OBLITERATES all the other games in the series in every possible way. The only negative I ever had about it was the Library level was a bit much....I never minded the backtracking because quite fuckin frankly the levels you backtrack through are some of the best levels of all time, and you're going through them at a different time of day and fighting a new enemy which changes the whole dynamic. It also made sense to the story, as you were fighting for control over this area.

But yeah, the AI, the difficulty levels, the pacing, the story, the atmosphere and the vibe....and the way that changes once the Flood enter the game. This is still the overall funnest FPS I have ever played, 10 years later. And considering how many FPS games there are and how popular the genre is, that is a serious fucking accomplishment for Bungie and this game. To me, this is kind of like the Ocarina Of Time of FPS's.

Because as long as the 360 copy is good, most reviewers won't give a shit.

Still can't see how the Halo AI was anything near good, let alone better than most games. Still a classic, though.

It had really good AI, what games were you playing at the time that had so much better AI?

And playing it again...I really don't think there's any games NOW that do it better, even with more memory to play with. As I said even the newer Halo games, while similar, don't feel as "right". And some games make the AI so tough that it feels cheap. This game had that perfect balance where it was a challenge but never cheap, and the AI always reacts differently in any situation. And above all, it made the game FUN to play to this day.

I see some people claim Halo's AI wasn't good from time to time, and it boggles my mind.

I'm not saying there's games with better AI. Just that Halo's AI was crap like all AI ever featured in a game. It's not as crap as the majority of games so in a way I'm agreeing with you. I just have higher standards. Nyaa

This is actually true. I had a course back in the university about Machine Intelligence. It was about AI in computers, there was research conducted to make computers think for themselves. Needless to say all efforts have been complete failures and the research has stopped on multiple occasion.

What you have in games is just clever scripting. This has almost nothing to do with power. Just because you make the computer more powerful, does not change the scripting of the AI. You have to think of the clever scripting yourself.

Also Turok 2 had clever AI. The enemies took cover, try to outflank you, sometimes turned themselves invisible, sometime fought with each other, or my favorite, sometimes they blew themselves up.

Blah blah blah whatever guys....Halo has the best scripting of any game ever then. lol
