For those of you delusional freaks out there (and by delusional freaks I mean fans of Animal Crossing), you officially need to get the new Professor Layton game. The bonus game, London Life is basically Animal Crossing with Earthbound graphic design and sensibility. The only difference if you don't have animal tracks. You start out in town and get a room in an apartment building, then get a job and try to start earning more money and happiness by helping out everyone in town. Then you get new clothes, new stuff for your home, etc. The RPG elements are very light, and really seem to just be regarding how many "sophistication points" you get by wearing nicer clothing and stuff like that.

Needless to say I loathe it. Fortunately the main Layton game is better than ever so I can pretty much ignore that London Life is even an option. But as we had several AC fans here I felt it was my duty to share.

No argument there. Layton is pretty bloody great. Though I need to work my way through more of London Life.

Rocksmith is pretty cool. I'll repost my impression from GAF.

Finally picked it up today. PS3 version, hooked to LCD via HDMI, but thinking of plugging RCA cables from TV to home theater to improve latency.

Beginner guitarist, never formally trained, most stuff learned from friends or self taught. Can read tab but not musical notation, know my way around with barre chords, power chords and a couple basic techniques.

First impression is good. Game pays attention to detail from the get go, and has, from what I can tell, a vast and comprehensive library of techniques, videos and exercises. Built-in tuner works great. Color coding is definitely confusing when you already know the names of strings and can work your way around, but I hope to adjust with a few hours under my belt.

Loading times are a bit annoying, but other than that it has made a hell of a first impression.

Been playing some more this morning. Game's awesome. Love how it dynamically adjusts its difficulty to how well are you performing the song. Happened to me in Go With the Flow. I don't know the song, but once I got the main riff structure under my belt, I tried to show off my ass by hitting notes that weren't on screen (all correct) and then BAM! the game unleashes the full barrage of notes for me to play. It's almost like it said "too cocky, huh? well, have at it!".
