IMO they should have just localised at least one of the three games mentioned in the campaign, Xenoblade probably. I think that commercially the games would have bombed though, Disaster Day of Crisis, great that they brought it to europe but sales wise I think it crashed.

I think that Nintendo America are pretty aware that there is a large segment of Wii owners who don't buy good Wii games, like Shattered Memories, Little Kings Story or Goldeneye. People like Edgecrusher are in the minority here, who look past the non-HD graphics and buy the most interesting games regardless of platform. Robio does it too, but he ends up hating everything anyway

Personally I think Xenoblade would bomb in the U.S, I think Pandora's Tower is a 70% game from what I have seen in impressions and Last Story probably would have the best chance of selling - but selling on the same level as something like Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn which is to say, not much at all. It's sad, really sad for passionate fans who want to play these games.

I'm still pissed that Ace Prosecutor 2 wont be localised into english and the Operation Rainfall nonsense reminded me of that. The first 3 Phoenix Wright games had the english translation on the japanese cart so I could just import. AP2 doesn't.

Last Story and Xenoblade were 100% guaranteed buys for me on day 1. Back when they were 1st announced, they became my most wanted Wii games and very high on my most wanted games list overall, period. Pandora's Tower depended on the reviews.

Yeah but I was starting to look forward to playing and not liking Xenoblade.

I agree that ultimately the game would not be much of a seller. I have a feeling that the Rainfall audience was a loud one rather than a large one. But I still think NIntendo needed to at least release one of them, if nothing more than a PR move. It would have been a good show of confidence towards the core audience. And now the very opposite is going to happen. Every website will have a negative article about NoA up before the week is over about this decision, and this may likely affect the Wii U. At the very least NoA is going to need to come up with a better explanation than that.

However I'm not worried. I'm still going to play this game one way or another. My Wii has been modded and while I would have preferred to buy the game, I don't have to.

Try living in Europe in the 90s. We never got Mario RPG, Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy III (VI). And back then their was no way to hack your console. Most of these games would not work with the converters, so you had to buy an American system.

Now it is easy, hacking your Wii is childs play and importing games is easy because of the Internet. Still a crappy move by NOA!

Well this is good news. Looks like I'll get a chance at Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep after all. That was really the last game I had interest in that I didn't get to play before I sold my PSP.

Here's hoping - it's actually a pretty great game. Easily the best Kingdom Hearts game to date.

If I was an American Wii owner who actually would buy these games I would be super pissed. Is there no freeloader type disc to enable your wii to play any region games without having to hack it?

From what I've heard before, each territory gets to pretty much decide what they would like to publish, I have heard from the Capcom U.S guys that it's the same situation for them . What pisses me off is that NOE is already going to translate the game into english, it's not like NOA would have to do much. They should at least have some program for getting the games direct, like Warner Bros have this service where you order your dvd set online, they literally print the discs to order and send them out so there is no waste. There is no goodwill here on the part of NOA - it's just a big fuck you with pleasent PR language.

I totally agree with you - I think Reggie should step in and take charge and demand at least one of them gets published (Not Pandora's Tower).

Speaking of external hard drives I have been considering getting a USB hardrive since my laptop is eating up the hard disk with backups. Amazon is selling a 1 terrabyte usb drive for £40 which is awesome value. PS3 lets you use these right? I think all consoles should let you, I would get the 500gb one though because its usb powered and doesn't need an AC adaptor.
