7. There are plenty of bonus moves for purchase. Try pissing and shitting on enemies to get demon fangs. Dodging and double jumping can eventually damage enemies. You get two weapons, each of which can be one of three distinct kinds, and each kind has at least two distinct flavors. Battles are fast and furious (especially the optional demon gate... or whatever they're called... ones), and you need to experiment with each enemy type to determine what finishing move will get you demon fangs.

8. I enjoy the fishing. There are tons of different things to catch. If you want to compare it to Zelda (which is, again, unnecessary from my POV), I find it to be more engaging and challenging than fishing in OoT and TP.

9. Boring? Not for me. Used too much? Possibly, though if I remember correctly, not all of them are required. I'll tell you what's really annoying, though: Trying to defeat the final Blockhead. I still haven't done it.

Playing Okami, for me, is like playing an epic, beautiful, folklore-drenched, anime. That's the kind of experience I'm going for when I play it. I play Zelda for entirely different reasons.

Yup.  B3 won't knock off COD, but it'll be a good matchup based on the endless hype it si gettign from even the most cyncial games press who have gotten to see it.  DICE are an amazing developer, I can't wait to see what they have done that has so many people excited about what is, really, a pretty well worn path at this point.

Square story that's been going around for a day now -- they are writing down expectations saying they lost tons of money due to cancelled projects among other things.

“Additionally, damage and losses during closures at, and restoration of, amusement facilities resulting from the Tohoku Pacific Ocean Earthquakes and Tsunami caused an extraordinary “loss on disaster”,” it continues.

When it’s all said and done, Square Enix expects this year to “result in total extraordinary losses of approximately ¥16.0 billion ($197.6 million).”

I wonder how much FF14 plays into this as well -- that was supposed to have subscriptions starting in January and it's still free because it was such a fiasco.

As it relates to FF14:

From what I understand the game was heavily focused on pleasing the Chinese and Korean MMO markets and they focus-tested the game to death.  Then on top of that they released it in an incomplete state (which is what reviewers were evaluating).

On top of that you have a "prove it to me first" group of players who are still loyal to FF11, who know their shit inside and out.  They were not going to settle for highly impressive graphics (which is what FF14 had to offer).
