its insane what some people do to there animals
Cats don't have puppy dog eyes.
So Team Meat sending a big Christmas Fuck You to Wii owners by cancelling the project altogether (they did say a retail version was, though not altogether out of the question, highly unlikely).
Such arrogance annoys me. It's not the way to treat a large chunk of fanbase. I bought the game during the Steam sale the other day. I wish I hadn't

One problem with these indy games lately has been the prices spiking up. Games like Super Meat Boy and Limbo are very good, without a doubt, but do you guys think they should be $15 (or 1200pts)?
I can understand why games like Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light or Shadow Complex are $15 since they look more like retail games. But $15 for the more indy games like Limbo, Braid, or Super Meat Boy are a bit expensive, IMO. They would be much better as $10 games...or maybe even $12 games.
LOL! Probably!
It looks like a mutant monster.

I agree with you completely, I did a thread about this in the forum not too long ago. I want to get Limbo but I can't bring myself to do so knowing I'd be paying £12 worth of points. It is too much. Sadly I think I'm also going to miss the chance to buy it half price on new year's eve as I will likely be away

I don't think it's much of a loss really. I've got so many games to play, I have SMB on Steam (free, press account) but haven't even considered installing it. Yeah, it's a cool hard platformer and some people's GOTY, I don't find it that compelling as much as I enjoyed the original freebie. The game has hype, so what? Every service has exclusives, this happens to be another XBLA exclusive. Even if the game was developed by Nintendo approaching the developers in the first place, but being decent enough to not bind them into any exclusivity. I dunno why people feel the need to argue about it so much beyond all the "lolz Wii/Nintendo suck ass" talk prelevant on GAF and other places, but the blame is certainly partially on Team Meat for leading people in that sort of thing yet being stubborn about offering it episodic or whatever else, as if it would be a disservice to people or the game itself if they could buy the thing in two packages of half price instead of one full price package. Or if they midified the music (even more retro style right there) and made it one package. Or if the game package had many levels missing, and they released those same levels as simply day 1 free content. Surely not all of its many levels are part of the main story mode so they could be separated? I mean, the game allows the creation of custom levels by users as well, so the file size restrictions wouldn't apply to such content. Just release those levels as free optional DLC, like new Trackmania Wii levels were created by Firebrand, or the custom levels in Boom Blox Bash Party. They could even do it in chunks for extra hype as it would be in the news sites over and over every time they released "new" stuff for it. They just don't care to do it, and that's fine, but how it's been handled isn't.
The optimist proclaims we live in the best of all possible worlds
while the pessimist fears this is true.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
^Yeah, plus also it was a technical limitation from what I understand. They couldn't get it under the MB cap Nintendo has set for DL games.
No big loss.
Maybe they could do a Super Meat Boy on the PSP or the DS. Not as PSP Minis or DSiWare, but as a full retail game.
But then that would cost more than $15.
Just saw the news on Castlevania 3DS. Cool!
But...I wonder if Iga and his team is making another 2D Vania. If so, I hope they revamp the sprites or do a 2.5D thing because I don't know if I want recycled sprites in 3D...if it even works in 3D!
My GOTY wouldn't be Galaxy 2.
I already used my right to return the buggy Black Ops for the speedtastic Sonic Colours. I like this law, it defeats this patching BS too. If the game doesn't work properly from the get go you can get a refund and f*** the patches.
It would have to be. Goldeneye is not in the nominations
