Not sure it's as clear-cut as that.  Personally I'm not sure who'd get it between Galaxy 2 and Red Dead Redemption at the "vgpress awards"

It plays like the lovechild of Max Payne and RE4.  Cannot understand the lukewarm reception.  Maybe it's because I was never hyped for this nor did I have any expectations

Interesting that Gamespot gave Red Dead GOTY for both 360 and PS3. So that means it should get overall GOTY, right?

The only game I see that can take over Red Dead as the overall GOTY is Super Mario Galaxy 2. It won't make sense for any another title to get that award since they gave Red Dead GOTY for both the systems it's on.

I'd say it's 50-50 between RDR and SMG2 at Gamespot. Van Ord and McShea were both very high on SMG2 (and it would be more controversial, so they'd get more traffic -- like they did last year with Demon's Souls).

Personally, I'd prefer if they only considered system exclusives for those awards.
