Bad framerate issues, more tearing and less detailed environments. I'm not a FR whore, mind you, but given the chance, in multiplatform titles, I tend to pick up the version with more advantages.
Can I ask, did anyone have expectations of Epic Mickey based off Warren Spectors past games?
I played Wing Commander, Thief and a demo of System Shock. I know he was famous for Deus Ex - about all I know about it, is that it's a non-linear FPS or something?
So from my perspective I just saw a PC FPS dev trying to make a dark mickey mouse adventure game, because of that, I wasn't expecting much. I guess I just liked Mickey Mouse from my old Genesis and SNES experiences and wanted to see him in a high quality game, not just some kids fluff. From what I saw on the gametrailers review, it's going to be a very pretty, colourful game, in the world of Disney where you run about a lot and chat to some characters.
And for me, that's okay. I would at least like to try it.
^Yeah me too. Just wanted to know what to look for as they were not obvious while playing.

Geek none of the outlets that have reviewed Epic Mickey have any credibility with me other than Eurogamer and Agnates. That's where I am coming from.
I must have written something wrong because my intention was to do the opposite as I felt that the few overly negative reviews made too big a deal of issues that are minor in practice. Yes, they're there so I mentioned them as anything else wouldn't be honest or even accurate but in my opinion they didn't hinder the overall experience, much like the few frame rate dips and less than ideal controls of Goldeneye don't stop it from being a great FPS, much like Deus Ex's sucky gunplay and combat in general don't make it anything short of a classic, much like Shenmue's questionable controls, iffy combat and voice acting don't mean it's any less of a must play, etc.
I was negative about the game previously but I came away pleased & eager for more of it despite the fact I've got no special bonds with anything Disney and therefor no nostalgia clouding my vision. It's simply great. I guess I agree with the 8 range of reviews in theory but I would probably also award a 7-8 to many titles such publications rate much higher, for similar reasons, so I'm glad there are the 9+ reviews to counter the more negative opinions too. It would be a shame if Disney considered it a failed experiment just because of a few rough edges. Gamers should ask for more of this, not less. An SMG2 type sequel would be most welcome, even.

Updated
The camera sounds sucky, but I don't know what people were expecting from the game. It's got:
G4TV 5 out of 5
Gamesradar 9/10
Gamereactor 9/10
ONM 85%
Guardian 4 stars out of 5
Gametrailers 8.2
Videogamer 8/10
IGN UK 8.0
IGN US 8.0
1up B
And then a couple of lowball scores:
CVG 7.5 review by Andy Robinson (Don't trust this guy - he lowballs Wii stuff all the time, he's a 360 mega fan and posted my looks-like-PSP COD story)
Eurogamer 6/10 (Read the last paragraph of this review - his biggest problem is that he doesn't want a dark mickey game)
So unless you were unreasonably expecting AAA 9/10s all round bro-fisting, you can't really complain. I was always a bit wary of this game, so I'm fairly non-plussed by its reviews. From my perspective it's turned out okay.
Kirby, Sonic Colours and Goldeneye all turned out to be unexpected AAA winter games to me, so I'm already happy - especially with DKC Returns being under my Christmas tree.

GAMESREACTOR
But if you feel like playing a game with Mickey Mouse, then things just don't get any better than Epic Mickey and it might just be the best non-Nintendo game on Wii. It's fun, charming, well polished, entertaining and fairly challenging. I have enjoyed every moment spent with Mickey, Oswald, Pete, Animatronic Goofy and the rest, and I'm already thinking about my next playthrough. Don't miss out on Mickey's journey through Wasteland.

THE GUARDIAN
Overall, though, Epic Mickey proves satisfyingly original, fun and absorbing – it's a pleasant, and at times interestingly twisted world in which to immerse yourself. At last, Mickey has a suitably credible means of making an impression on the world of video games.

G4TV
Disney Epic Mickey is the rare ambitious game that manages to hit all of its declared targets. Disney fans (particularly those who love Disneyland) absolutely must play this game. Platformer fans (particularly those who love N64 platformers) absolutely must play this game. If you love meaningful player choice, freeform gameplay, piles of quests to complete, inventive level design, and an ending that can break or warm your heart depending on your decisions, you are Disney Epic Mickey’s target audience. It is relentlessly imaginative, surprisingly thoughtful and strikingly fresh. It takes Mickey Mouse and uses him to do something most modern audiences didn’t think he could: surprise us.
Walt would have loved it.

VIDEOGAMER
It's clear that a lot of love went into making Disney Epic Mickey. The attention to detail in the environments is superb, with little touches here and there for fans to pick up on, and the many forgotten characters are excellent. The platforming is top notch when the camera doesn't get in the way, and the paint and thinner mechanics give the game a unique hook. Even with a smattering of issues that will cause annoyance, Disney Epic Mickey is a fine addition to the upper echelon of the Wii's software library.

This has provided (along with the COD/GE discussions) an epiphany to me about review scores and the role they play in gaming discussion. I guess also the GT5 thing also brought it to a head.

I'll elaborate in a blog sometime. There are three points to it, and I want to research one of them.

After playing Kane and Lynch and Hitman Contracts I don;t think I'll ever buy an IO game ever, at any price.
