while the pessimist fears this is true.

C'mon ASK, no GOTY predictions before you played the game even.
The original was very, very, VERY good, but when I get to one of those impossible levels (as descibed above) my patience expires. I'll get it when it drops to $29 USD.
Just make the dinos into aliens and you're onto a sure thing. (If they aren't already, of course.)

Meh.
I wish it WAS a Green Hill Zone Galaxy or something.
What it is, is just... meh.
Nintendo will release a new console sooner than most think. Playstation 3's Move controller is going to take away whatever hardcore support Wii has left, Xbox 360's Natal camera is going to have some absolutely horrible ass games for casual players, and both consoles are going to see lowering prices as well as the arrival of 3D gaming which the Wii can't do.
Lowering prices, new controllers, and 3d gaming = new Wii.
My prediction.

I don't think Nintendo will go out with a 3D capable console. They're not really ones to play follow the leader, particularly with something unproven like 3D. I think they'll leave their handheld as their place for 3D and keep the next console just 2D. Though maybe they'll leave room to make it capable. Really I think they'll incorporate smell-o-vision before they go 3D.
So long as their next upgrade allows for HD gaming and a controller upgrade, I don't think they'll need to do too much else.
Woo hoo! Awesome Mai gif is awesome. I too can't wait for KoFXIII, it's looking great.
Red Dead Revolver did start out originally as a Capcom product and R* did pick it up from them.
I have no idea what you just said.
Just finished Silent Hill Wii.
Great, Great game. Definitely the best one since 2003's SH3. And I actually didn't mind the short length....for a game of this type it wasn't a problem, especially since the pace of the story was perfect. Well done controls, nice production values, great storytelling. Great characters. I'd give it a solid 8.5 rating.
Sounds allright.
I just don't like westerns, films or games. Review are so good though I will get it like 3 years from now and talk about it. I was going to buy it when I saw the reviews, then I saw the gametrailers review and everything was so empty and repetitive in terms of environment. Because it's a western and has to be set in a desert. Westerns!
What was that? *stares at avatar*
Sounds good to me!
Nice COD Black ops trailer.
Nice. Did you try a second playthrough? What did you think of the ending? No spoilers for the other guys! Were you suprised at how atmospheric just using the torch is to look at stuff?
Japan Review Check: Super Mario Galaxy 2, Alan WakeA quick peek at the most interesting games due out in Japan next week, as reviewed in the latest issue of Famitsu magazine:
- Super Mario Galaxy 2 (10/9/9/9, 37 points): Unsurprisingly, gamers in Japan are just as excited about Miyamoto's latest as their American counterparts. Famitsu's editors were especially jazzed about how innovative the stages are this time around -- "My hat goes off to how varied the stages are; they never get boring, and there's a charm to them that makes you want to keep on playing," one wrote.
"The challenge level of the action and puzzle-solving parts is exquisitely balanced as always," another added. "You go through these cycles of pondering over some part of the game, finding the answer, and finishing the stage, and it keeps you engaged throughout. It's just the sort of game you'd expect from the Mario brand."
- Alan Wake (9/9/8/8, 34 points): If it wasn't for Mario, this would be the pick of the week amongst Japanese reviewers. "While there's nothing really new to the gameplay outside of the fighting, there's just something about the game that makes it hard to put down," one writer said. "The story feels a lot like you're inside a movie or TV drama, but there's none of the boredom that arises from your typical linear adventure. There's this sense of tension that's sustained throughout, whether you're fighting enemies or playing out the story in your nightmares."
- DeathSmiles IIX (8/8/7/7, 30 points): The Xbox 360 port of Cave's latest horizontal-scroll shooter received a pretty cozy reception from Famitsu, considering. "The console-original mode uses a different system from the arcade, making for a pretty fresh experience," one editor wrote. "I really like the hi-def 16:9 visuals, too. There isn't that much volume to it overall, but I like the new characters introduced here, at least."
- Red Steel 2 (9/8/7/7, 31 points): Ubisoft's waggle-tastic Wii FPS, released back in March over here, is just now making it over to Japan. "The unique setting, which fuses the classic Western with Japanese tastes, is a bit rough around the edges but still more engaging than the previous game," said one reviewer. "Wii Motion Plus makes the sword a great deal easier to use, and the gun battles are similarly engaging."
The rest of the review crew were similarly kind to the game, although one or two niggles were also brought up: "When you're walking around the game map, the way that doors seem to take forever to open because of loading is pretty annoying."
Updating now, more Famitsu scores

Yes the ending was crazy! Kind of a Sixth Sense type of deal. I didn't play twice though, I rented it and typically try to return games ASAP so I can keep them coming. When I can pick it up cheap I'll play through it again.
