XP is still better than 7. I'd only move to 7 if I were on Vista. I have an install of 7 and will put it on the wife's Vista laptop when she lets me.
IZarc -- that's the one, thanks Yoda. With that I'll be all set to edit the show this weekend.
Having been a supporter of SNK for a long time (proud NEOGEO and NEGEO Pockert owner) I no longer have a sense of who or what SNK is any more. After the US office closed, I just don't know if the new company is of SNK or just someone using their name. And of the Japanese talent, I don't know if any of the old people are around.
(Kind of like how Atari -- and to an extent SEGA -- lost their identity).
Had a NeoGeo Pocket for a long time... Match of the Millenium ranks among my favorite games E-V-E-R...
...but, even still, I've never paid much attention to SNK as a company, overall.
I DO agree that most releases they put out (Card Fighters Clash 2, I'm lookin' DIRECTLY at YOU!) seem to be buggy, shoddy and second-rate at best.
...but then I PLAYED the game...
...the online was buggy. There were NO Intros, Endings... No Story-line... A Lack of ANY types of alternate modes...
...Yeah. The SNK/Playmore it's been for a while shined completely through...
...and yet I still hold hope for XIII...
...odd.
Hopefully they'll be in the console versions (if they plan to add more) or in XIV.
But XIII might be worth it for this alone!
Also, as I asked before, did anyone else pick up Red Dead Redemption? Aspro? Dvader? GG? Leo? Angel? Anyone?
I know Steel got it...or plans on getting it.
By the way, I also managed to pick up Split Second with the $25 gift card I got for picking up Red Dead at Toys!
And they gave me another $10 GC for getting Split Second, which I will use to get SMG2 later this week!
It's been a bitter/sweet day today. Good because of the games, but bitter because I'm having some trouble with my work.

Nope. Don't like Westerns. Tired of same old, same old Sandbox games. DO NOT trust ANY reviews of ANY Rockstar games since GTA4. Couldn't pay me to play it.
How's Split Second?
Installing it any second now!
But I really enjoyed the demo. It was weird at first, but after I understood what the heck was going on and started doing more powerful power-players, it started to get pretty good.
I loved Pure so I wanted this. Hope they support this game with more DLC episodes later on.
I'll write impressions later.
And as for me, I really like westerns and Red Dead is certainly the greatest western game ever made. And likewise, I'm really not a fan of open sandbox games, which is why I never got into the GTA series. Also, GTA rubs me the wrong way. I have a strange conviction when I play those.
But Red Dead's animation, amazing jaw-dropping graphics, and western theme sold me. I was going to pick it up later but the videos blew me away. Plus the Toys R Us gift card deal was too hard to pass up.

Pretty awesome animation isn't it!

Redemption... I played the original, it sucked about a third the way through (one hit kill after a long no-checkpoint save -- the bar fight level).
So it's boycotted.
I like the idea of a difficulty level on a sand box game, but I just can't do it. I beat all the GTA games but for San Andreas, VC and GTA4 (though I played them for 40+ hours), but the original Red Dead burnt me.
Don't like westerns -- that's okay -- but did you try Darkwatch on PS2?
(No Darkwatch.)

while the pessimist fears this is true.

Original? Are you talking about Red Dead Revolver?
I'm pretty sure Redemption is much different and much much better game. Revolver was from Capcom and I think the IGN review said R* bought the rights from them or something like that.
You should check out Redemption. If you were referring to Revolver, I'm pretty sure you'll have a better experience with Redemption.

Ooo! I love Darkwatch! Very underrated FPS, IMO.

Yeah Revolver was a R* product. It was developed by Rockstar San Diego and published by Rockstar (Take2). Which R* studio handled Redemption?
If you are of the mind to go back to the PS2 generation it would be worth your while. Darkwatch approaches the "art" level of game production.
Well, I'm still sure Redemption is a much better game. I haven't even played Revolver so I wouldn't know, but I think R* really went all out with Redemption and I really think it's the strongest contender for GOTY this year.

Its awesome. They broke the levels up into parts a la RE4 and RE5, and you buy extra weapons just like RE4 and RE5. Basically this game started ideas that Capcom would use 5 years later.
