The optimist proclaims we live in the best of all possible worlds
while the pessimist fears this is true.

I think it just means you get those HD versions for free when you buy a 3DTV.
Maybe if you are buying the games from PSN you get to just choose what version you get or toggle an option which enables 3D?
SMG 2
Mario and Yoshi's basic control video

http://www.nintendo.co.jp/wii/sb4j/action/yoshi.html
Years ago I was in a Gameworks and they had an enclosed stage set up where two people could play against each other in Tekken 2 by actually throwing punches and kicks, and seeing the fighters mimick the action. To call it unresponsive would be generous, but you could still see where it could go if the technology got better. . . and frankly I have no interest in ever doing it again. It was not fun. And if you ever felt stupid doing motion gestures for a Wii game, get ready for an entire new level of embarassment.
Even dumbed down to basic elements, this is just going to be weak. If you want to make an exercise game, make an exercise game. If you want to make a fighting game, make a fighting game (and for the love of god keep it controller based). Don't mix the two though. It's a bad, bad, BAD idea.
i remember going to a games show at the Excel centre in london, it must have been in 2002 or 2003 (huge rows for the halo 2 demo and the nintendo kiosk showing one of the first twilight princess trailers) and there was this tech-demo or something which was a first person 3D fighter which had you physically throwing punches and kicks. the game tried to read your motions using photo sensors in what looked like those anti-theft alarm gates they have at the exits of shops.
it was unresponsive and ridiculous as robio said and it really didn't make me want to play it

Listen to Wu-Tang and watch Kung-Fu
This article pissed me off - http://www.1up.com/do/blogEntry?bId=9027205
This was 1-up's retrospective on Crystal Castles. For those of you who don't remember (or never heard of it here are a few pics)
There wasn't much to the game, but you were a cute bear who was controlled with a roll-ball (ala Centipede) and you picked up gems on different stages while avoiding trees that tried to each you and other stuff like that. And occasionally you'd find a Wizard's hat that made you invulerable and made you that much cuter. When I was around 6 or 7, this was my FAVORITE arcade game without a doubt. The fact that the Wii still doesn't have this on the Virtual Aracade is a crime against humanity.
So why does the article make me mad? Because they're focusing most the retrospective on the POS version on the Atari 2600. . . This version:
You may notice a complete drop in quality and functionality between the two versions. And frankly seeing it again makes me hate the 2600 all the more.
I saw the same thing. On stage with a screen behind, this guy trying to do kung fu moves. It was horrible.
Hitting wii in a compilation pack.
At least they're proper lightgun shooters, not like Dead Space: Extraction or the Chronicles games that do not allow for perfect calibration to let you turn off the crosshair afterwards and thus don't offer an arcade-like experience.

Nothing else matters, OH MY GOD!!!
The guy is a nutcase, SMG2 will easily be 1st place in May, it won't even be close.
Woah what is this?!
(I thought this was the best looking Wii game ever at first, then I noticed it was for PS3, . Looks awesome.)

Grammaton:
"When most credible sites and magazines are giving it a 9.
And when they seem to do this over and over and over again with various releases."
Same guy that with any game he doesn't like will ignore every review and say the low one is the truth.Man Lost Planet 2 is looking soooooooo good, can't wait to get it.
Oh its a time of peace, which is a perfect time to gather evidence the second he becomes a monster. Which I assume will be the second big Nintendo games start hitting.
