with regards to GTA CTW, i don't think it was rock* who failed. think it was the majority of the public who failed in refusing to give the game a chance. it saddens me when such a great game, in a completely mainstream franchise went so unappreciated.
as far as i'm concerned it is the most playable and enjoyable GTA game i have tried (and i tried all of them) and the only one I liked well enough to play to the end (and enjoyed every minute of it)

Failed commercially. I've beaten all but 2 of the GTA's and this is my second most favorite of them all (Vice City Stories for PSP is the best).
Not sure how that says anything against my 2 points. And yeah, they decided to port a DS game instead of PS2 eh

No, SMG is just the best game of the generation so far, and the sequel looks like it'll be better.
Am I thinking of someone else or have you not played SMG?
I'm not one for holy cows, though. I don't think the HL series is great.

Was hyped, expecations are very low now. I will still get it day one and generally be excited but it wont be that good.
A Gamecube port being better than 2 "next gen" games? You just trolled this whole generation.
well done
Well yeah, but is is for Vader.
This is something I don't understand. The notion that if you don't like/enjoy a specific game/franchise you are less of a gamer than everyone else who does.
To you. I've played SMG, and it's the best platformer out there, nothing less, nothing more. I can understand how such a game can be the embodiment of gaming perfection to other people, but to me, it is solely a good game in a sea of other equally good games. There is a number of titles that I've had more fun this generation than with SMG, although I don't expect everyone to share my viewpoint.
If someone told me that there weren't going to be any more Mario games ever again, I wouldn't lift an eyebrow. If that somehow makes me less of a gamer, so be it. To me, they're not as enjoyable anymore, because my tastes in gaming nowadays are located elsewhere.
i took the statement quite literally ie there are people who don't play games and have never played games. maybe to them mario is no big deal. hence the

I'm certain Agnates is joking, as was I.
Why so serious?
I am sure most personal best games of all time are not of this gen. I am sure a ton of people will say an SNES game is better than all games of the last 10 years and such.
No one would put a port with some waggle in his best game ever list. Well no one except for you. And SMG is a better 3D platformer than TP is a Zelda game. SMG actually moved the genre forward, TP did not.
Right. No one thinks TP is one of the best games ever, no one.
It doesn't matter who moved genres forward, TP is a better game than Galaxy. Zelda offers much more than Mario ever can.
And since no one agrees with Jeff, I am right.
Wrong. I agree with Jeff.
