Sad thing is, they probably will.
Still...there is promise.
Stop it. It's just a silly rumor story.
So awesome.
The official site says it is coming to the 360, PS3, Wii and a mystery console... uh what?
EDIT: OMG at post above... it's all coming true.
It would be practically impossible to screw it up.
It's coming to Wii HD!!!
The game has homing attack.
PSP. Only logical choice.
Don't ruin the fun.
Gaf played with the urls and found that.
Wow Sega removed it quickly. It's Iphone. The second box is a podcast with the producer.
So far you've only confirmed for sure that two copies have been sold.
make that 3

i thought they had said it wasn't coming to the wii. but it's a wise decision on behalf of sega. it wouldn't make sense not to release it onto as many platforms as possible, and wiiware seems a good outlet for that type of thing

It would have been asinine to not release it on the Wii. Sonic has always sold best on Nintendo consoles every since Sega left the hardware market. Sonic Unleashed sold 3 times as many copies on the Wii than it did on any other console. Sega might as well shoot themselves in the head while they're at it if they're skipping the Wii. Even morseo since this is a downloadable game. I can't back this up at the moment but I believe that Mega Man 9 sold better on the Wii than on PSN or XBL. I know it set all sorts of WiiWare records when it came out.
Anyway I do have one complaint about Sonic 4 (I'm sure I'll have more later), but it's that its being released in Episodes. That's all fine and good for adventure and RPGs but I don't think that idea works well for an action game. In fact it doesn't even work well for those genres. It kills interest and momentum in a game rather than builds it in my opinion. Just give us the whole damn thing at once.
It worked fine with Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles, which are the games Sega is comparing Sonic 4 to in GS's Q&A, so I don't see a problem. Basically, we are going to get multiple, Genesis-styled 2D Sonic games in the next few years, and that makes me happy.
