Pretty much. You want to take advantage of MS's shitty engineering and cheap ass hardware, not melting the entire thing.
Coming from Iga, who likes ExciteTurds, I'll take that as a compliment.
You said wet before, you sly dog. You are trying to cause a fire!
The problem with running it with demanding games is that it freezes on every game, so its not running anything just showing me a static screen.
So I can't wet it a little and wring it out? I was going to use my own pee.
When did I say wet?
You need to be patient. Reboot the system. Over and over again. You should be seeing by now, how the system deteriorates in real time. i.e. it's taking progressively less time to freeze and crash each time you load a game. That shows you are on the right track. You'll get there, eventually. But if you stop using it, you'll never get the coveted RRoD achievement.
The hell? It freezes on the boot up sequence as the big green X is rotating. Then it will go to the game title screen and other times I get 10 seconds into a game. A full 10 seconds!
Is anyone interested in Another Code R? I love CING games like Hotel Dusk and Little Kings Story. I was worried that the Wii game might be short but its suppossed to be 8-12 hrs which is the same as Broken Sword for instance. I'm looking forward to it, not sure I will bite at full price though.
I saw Prof layton on DS on amazon for £18.
Worth it Bugs? How much is straight up puzzles and how much is story and graphic adventure type stuff? Is the story compelling? Do the puzzles fit well within the narrative?
"Sonic is a key content partner, enabling us to greatly enrich the video entertainment options available to Wii customers," said Minoru Yoshida, Executive Managing Director, Fujisoft. "We look forward to continuing our partnership with Sonic and providing consumers trouble-free access to more great Hollywood entertainment at home."
"Increasingly, consumers are looking to access and enjoy movies via their connected entertainment devices, whether at home or on-the-go," said Alex Carloss, Executive Vice President, Digital Distribution, Paramount Digital Entertainment. "Therefore we are delighted to become the first major studio offering video-on-demand through the Nintendo Wii."
Roxio CinemaNow offers a broad selection of regularly updated premium video entertainment for rental or purchase, including new releases from major Hollywood studios often on the same day the DVD is available in stores. CinemaNow's cloud-based media services power devices from multiple manufacturers, forming a connected ecosystem that consumers can use to seamlessly choose, move and view video entertainment.
"Fujisoft is a renowned technology thought leader and major supplier of embedded software for everything from mobile devices to digital home electronics, so we are extremely pleased to be collaborating with them to bring Hollywood movies to the Wii," said Mark Ely, executive vice president of strategy, Sonic Solutions. "Thanks to this new relationship with Fujisoft, consumers now have another convenient way to access high-quality entertainment from Roxio CinemaNow."
Premium entertainment from Roxio CinemaNow is currently available on a range of devices including Blu-ray Disc players from LG Electronics, Dell PCs, and Archos portable media players. As well as being available on a range of consumer electronics, Roxio CinemaNow is currently powering internet movie delivery for Blockbuster and is instantly accessible through Bestbuy.com.
i'm definitely interested in Another Code. i also love these guys' previous work and the reviews of another code so far strike all the right cords with me. if it were £18 i'd have ordered it without a second thought, as it is i'm still thinking about it but i think i will give in
apart from navigating around the village and pointing on stuff and villagers, the actual gameplay is ALL puzzles. a lot of the puzzles are the kind of puzzle your grandfather or uncle will say after dinner during a family gathering etc (the kind that get carried over through generations by word of mouth, and have different variations etc). they are almost entirely unrelated to the story (except for the obvious fact that everybody in the mysterious village loves puzzles and professor layton and luke love solving them) but extremely enjoyable. the story, the music, the characters are totally lovable and very compelling. it reminds me of the work of studio ghibli and also european cinema like bellville rendezvouz (the bellville triplets) if you've seen it. i still play the game every week to download the new puzzles. i cannot tell you how much i love this game and how highly i'm anticipating the rest of them to be localised
edit: i forgot to say i have often given puzzles i took directly from this game to my students and they enjoy them very much (a lot more than their physics homework)

Listen to Wu-Tang and watch Kung-Fu
Yeah pretty much what he said. The puzzles aren't really involved with the story other than to complete them in order to advance the plot. Essentially you from one plot point to another, and to get the new ones to open up you have to solve a certain amount of the available puzzles. You don't actually solve the Mystery of the Curious Village. The story just progresses and resolves itself as you fulfill the puzzle requirements (and visit the right areas).
It sounds like it wouldn't be that fun, but you'll be shocked to see that it really is. I had a very hard time putting it down. The story, music, art style, character. . . it's all just great. Can't wait till August when we finally get our hands on the Diabolical Box.
Generally I agree with that, but there's a few genres that I think work really well on a handheld that aren't enhanced by a bigger screen. Puzzle games and adventure games quickly jump out. No matter how good the graphic are on a game like Tetris it still doesn't change much.
Plus, there's something to be said for being able to play the same game anywhere you want to go. Sitting in a floaty chair in the pool while playing the DS is damn near a religious experience.
That all being said, RPGs should never appear on a handheld.
Wow, Micheal Jackson just died. Such a shame he had such a troubled life since he was an incredible talent. Farrah Fawcett also passed away today.
same here. so strange.

Anyway I beat Punchout! The last boss wasn't that hard. I literally have ZERO clue with the complaints on the motion controls. IMO they work just as well as the NES Style control. I actually find them far preferable.
And yeah I FINALLY ordered my Macbook. I got a 13" Macbook Pro with a 4GB DDR3 RAM upgrade.
