Just to add a little to the Beatles Rock Band story:
Turns out that that date (also 10 years since the dreamcast launch), is a WORLDWIDE release. So it looks like Europe and Australia won't get fucked over like we did with Rock Band.
There will be unique instruments on sale, but those are limited - the guitars themselves cost about $100. Speaking of which, practically any recent rhythm game controlled can be used.
Finally, according to that article, it'll be hitting the PS3/360 and Wii.

*Also, all prices are USD.
I hope this means details on the game are forth coming. When it was announced they were very adamant about stating that this wasn't going to just be Rock Band with Beatles songs. Frankly elaborating on that would be more interesting at this point rather than telling me about cost.

Even in the description it states its going to be a journey through the career of the beatles. I assume it will be like an encyclopedia of sorts and you play through their careers.

I would elaborate more, but unfortunately, that's all we know at the moment. Had I more information, then I would post it.
But from all reports and the stuff we know so far, it's looking basically like a Beatles specific version of Rock Band, but Harmonix are treating it as a big project. So maybe they'll be doing something like changing the art style or whatever. Again, there is so little known about the actual game, it's hard to tell.

She's ok. But she must have heard what people have been saying about her..and...well..
She is now forced to drink away her sorrows. Fuck you GamingGeek.
In all seriousness though, why don't you like her GG?

No I know that this is all the information that they released. My point was just that I found it usual to release all the pricing details before dropping any information about the actual gameplay, particularly when they went to great lengths to tell people before that this wouldn't be a typical Rock Band game.
I will be severely pissed off if this just becomes just a run of the mill guitar game. This is one of the few music catalogs that I think needs to be treated special.

The Beatles and a crappy rhythm game with $100 plastic giuitars? I am having trouble thinking of a worse combination...

It was a bit crappy after watching it. Nice character models, if that is in game. I wanted to see gameplay though.
Why is there no decent grass in either version? A game where you have to render at most 4 character models, some flat audience members and a single unchanging environment and you cant even do some grass that the Xbox and Wii could do?

Astonishing lack of effort. Even the first Dreamcast had 3d crowd zombies.

I think that the 360/ps3 version have 3d crowd zombies. I dont care about that, but the ground textures are awful. Wii can do better, but PS3 and 360 should be able to blow it out. The grass in the PS3 pic looks the same as teh Wii one.
Listening to the IGN podcast now on EA Grand Slam tennis. Sounds great. Like Wii tennis but more in depth, you can use the chuk for movement. They didn't even try it with motionplus either. Man all this time later a game that finally matches Wii Sports tennis + depth. How did it take nearly 3 years to see this?
"Feels a lot like Super Tennis"

Wii sports was Nintendo saying, here this is what you can do, go make full sports games with the concept, instead the concept publishers took was minigames! Argh.
Ubisoft has pulled its original disaster game I Am Alive from developer Darkworks and taken the project in-house.
The game was announced at E3 last year and expected to release this spring, but had been delayed until the financial year ending March 2010.
"In order to respect the new launch date for this ambitious title, and Darkworks having other obligations, we have mutually decided to complete development of I Am Alive at Ubisoft Shanghai, as the two studios have collaborated on aspects of the title over the past year," said Ubisoft in a statement.
"The team at Darkworks has respected its contractual obligations on the project and will be a part of the success of the game when it launches."
In an interview with GamesIndustry.biz last year, Darkworks' CEO Antoine Villette described a good working relationship with Ubisoft, revealing that the publisher puts considerable pressure on new intellectual properties.
"It has been a long time we have been working with them and, as an external developer, we have been treated well," he said.
"For Ubisoft, for original IP it is very aggressive. They are quite willing to take risks and they deserve some applause for that. They have as much original IP as they do sequels but I think that's fair."
That's funny. I saw these guys at MegaCon (a comic convention that's just about in my backyward). They were pretty good. Last year there was another Phoenix group, but they were just terrible. Completely ghetto costumes.
However, it still pails in comparison to my classic gay Spider-Man costume
Really looking forward to this game. I've enjoyed the Harvest Moon series since its incarnation on the SNES, and was very impressed with the first Rune Factory on the DS. It's combat controls needed a lot of work, but everything else was very solid. So if they've improved upon the combat then the Wii version can only be a great game. The screen shots already confirm that this is going to be a beautiful game. Just not sure how the hell I'm going to pay for it. . . Already got We Ski & Snowboard and Madworld next week. . . may have to sell one of the kids.
