One of the site's forefathers.
WTF is that, Iga? Why I can't understand shit?
HELLO !!!
DID SOMEONE CALL ???
PHANTOMU_LEEEOOO !!! HOOOO !!!
what's tales of the earthsea like, i can't believe there is a studio ghibli movie i haven't seen yet. i somehow got a bad feeling about this one when i was reading reviews etc while it was in the making.
___
Listen to Wu-Tang and watch Kung-Fu
i didn't like it either so no offence taken (did you read my message, it clearly implied i didn't think it was a very good movie). having said that i nevertheless got the point it was trying to make so i felt i got something from it even if i didn't enjoy watching it. sort of like michael haneke's funny games (the original austrian one, haven't seen the american remake)
___
Listen to Wu-Tang and watch Kung-Fu
i feel i have to apologise to someone for not having bought mario kart yet and truthfully promise to buy it the minute i get back home in about a month's time... good times to be had!!
___
Listen to Wu-Tang and watch Kung-Fu
this is correct. i have all the studio ghibli movies on dvd (except tales of the earthsea... i think i have about 16) and they are almost equally enjoyable to watch with the english dub as they are in the japanese original. such a pleasure to watch every time
___
Listen to Wu-Tang and watch Kung-Fu
It was either Brawl or Mario Kart and Brawl was cheaper on ebay.
No matter how good a dub is for a foreign movie when the cultures are so different it is going to be detrimental to the film overall.
I'm begining to think I'm the only one who doesn't like Smash Bros.
Mario Kart Wii > Brawl
The Simpsons is animated in South Korea

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileWhat do you mean? It's pretty straight forward!
Iga, please enlighten me - where the hell are you getting the Zelda Manga from, let alone what the Zelda manga is called?
I am not telling
Well I have seen the original japenese and lots of footage of the dubbed version. In comparison I find the english dub bland, boring and monotone. Christian Bale and the VA for Sophie is dull and uninspired. The original japanese dub has a profoundness and drama about it that matches the story a lot better. I also wouldn't even take a leak on the English princess mononoke dub. The weird distorted voice of gillian anderson as the mother wolf was gross, Minnie Driver in comparison to her japanese counterpart didn't manage nearly as well to convey the sort of idiosyncractic nature of the main misunderstood villainess. Claire Danes made me cringe everytime she spewed out her whiney crap.
Only spirited away has an english dub worth watching IMO. Japanese voice actors in this kind of animation, they just seem to convey more power and emotion.
Shut yer face Fedor!
Sweet, that must be worldwide. This game deserves a million at least. Interestingly that figure is about twice what Elebits sold.
Just don't sit down with expectaitons that it's going to be anywhere near Hayao's best. It's his son Goro and I'd say that it matches early Ghibli quality like Nausicaa. I didn't like it at first as I was a fan of the books and it was condensed and different and not explained very well in comparison. Upon second viewing though I enjoyed it quite a bit. There is a transformation in the film that people probably wont understand unless they read the books, it's just kind of thrown in there at the end in a WTF moment. Iga saw it recentely, he can probably answer you better. BTW why not check out my blog on movies, I would love your input.
I think I should explain mario kart more. There are some who still hold up Mario kart DS as this sort of ultimate kart. This is not true IMO. Mario kart wii gives you an abundance of tracks new and old. You can choose between a ton of vehicles, if you want traditional karts, you have that, if you want Double dash style vehicels, you got that. And they have added motorcycles which handle as you expect, it's quite balanced.
The visuals are mario kart standard, a rock solid frame rate, bright and colourful and with a lash of bloom in there. The online mode is where the game shines though. You can even have fun playing with random people. You get points for winning or lose points for losing and you can judge by your online score vs others they relative skill ratings. Connection is smooth and seamless and you can even tell by the spinning globe where everyone is and from their Mii's get an inkling of what they look like.
The game has a great ranking feature. Rather than scores or a table or graph you get this world map with your mii icons that sort of race along the screen eventually falling on your time. You can then switch between tracks or tournaments and then between friends or regional or worldwide rivals to see just how good you are. When you see that picture with your friends and them overtaking you on it, it drives you to better them. You can then send a challenge to them via wiicconect 24 or download and battle it out with their ghost. And you can do the same for the very best drivers around the world.
Not only tha there are tournaments which is nintendo's very first DLC, one tourney had you driving againt the mario galaxy topmans tribe boss in a galaxy setting
Registering friends couldn't be easier. You click the PM option and you have a list of every wii system code friend on screen. You simply click their name to send an invite. On the other end they get the PM and click YES to accept and it automatically hooks you up.
You can even install the mario kart channel to your wii dashboard and then even without the game in the machine you can easily check who is online and choose to join them if you want. You can open a room and have people join for a private party or just join in on their current online matches. Suprisingly for me, online has enhanced this game by a good notch and that comes from someone who isn't even that big on online. I played several hours online with supremeAC and his girlfriend and my buddy locally. It's just fun to dump a green shell into their asses and speed off. Or have them toe to toe on the finish line.
I even know people who prefer the wii wheel, personally I hate it but mario kart gives you every control option under the sun.
I agree, but I still like brawl. Truth is I haven't had the time to play more than a few hours and all that was the subspace emissary.

Got to love this article from Don Resigner on 3rd parties and wii. Especially the overall tone "While it's fine to develop for PS3 and 360, show the wii some commitment too"
