What games have you done this for?

For me:

  • Harvest Moon A Wonderful Life, I had seasons and crops to plant and plan for the year.
  • Animal Crossing - keeping track of which of my four characters had which furniture sets.
  • Splatoon - researching exactly what the abilities of the clothing do and noting what the best equips were.
  • FFCC - the damn game didn't have a map unless you had a gba and link cable hooked up. So I drew some maps, crappy game anyway.

The last game I remember doing this for was Pandora's Tower.

Prior to that Dark Souls, I made detailed checklists of the more hard to get trophies

Did it for others before but don't remember now.

I rarely made notes unless it was to memorize a maze in a level or wrote down a passcode.  I did have very detailed Super Mario World  of worlds and levels.  SMW is probably my favorite 2D art style and I loved to recreate it.

Fuck man. I haven't made notes for a game in 20 years. Back then it was mainly for maps and passwords.

If I need to make notes then I'm playing something far too complex, or I'm taking it too seriously. Either way it's a sign that I need to talk away and go back to something simpler or less frustrating.

In Animal Crossing I printed out a checklist of all of K.K. Slider's songs and crossed it off when I got that song.

I also had a notebook for EV training Pokemon it had a whole list of which Pokemon granted which EV when you defeated them and how many they gave in that stat.

I also had a section for the team I wanted their natures and moves.

I also had a scratch paper and would tally every pokemon I fought for that EV because you can only have 255 total EVs.

That was the only time I ever did EV training because it was too much work.

SUPER MARIO MAKER LEVELS:

  • SMB Mix-Up! (1AB2-0000-0047-5A7D)
  • Storm the Castle (77BD-0000-00E0-A9C0)

Usually it's for adventure games with lazy puzzles, so it's a good sign that I'm not into something. Last one was probably Broken Sword 5.

That or I'm reviewing a PC game and can't be bothered alt-tabbing.

Did you keep any of them? Would be cool to see your drawings.

You don't need notes because your attention span is zero. Nyaa

Sadly, no.  I didn't really draw video games, with SMW being the exception.  Maybe I'll work on something one day.
