So, I've been thinking of making a thread to keep track on games that might be overlooked or underappreciated by the gaming mob, in any platform, for the remainder of this year and the upcoming one. Any suggestions?

  • 3D Dot Game Heroes (From Software).
  • Tower of Shadow (Hudson Soft).
  • Night Game (Nicalis).
  • Endless Ocean 2 (Arika).
  • Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Crystal Bearers (Game Designer's Studio).
  • Nostalgia (Matrix Software/Red Entertainment)

If anyone underappreciates 3d Dot game heroes its instant banning right?

RIGHT!

It's only unreleased games?

Tower of Shadow then, for obscurity.

What else is there? Fantasy Life DS, a game with Little Kings Story character designers, Brownie Brown developing and animal Crossing like game.

Night Game? Max and the Magic Marker?

It's tough to tell what's going to be a sleeper or not until it's actually released.  Before E3 I would have said Scribblenauts would have completely flown under everyone's radar, but now it's poised to be a huge seller.  It's been on Amazon's top 100 list for over a month now, and it still has about 3 weeks before it even launches.  This game is going sell a million copies with no doubt.

Still if I have to pick something I'll go with the Night Game.  Looks too freaking cool, but unless it gets some mega "World of Goo" level word of mouth I don't think it'll go anywhere.

Despite the accolades I'm not that fussed over Scribblenaughts. I just haven't seen enough media. I love the artwork.

3D Dot Heroes stands no chance of being overlooked.(by meNyaa)  I suppose the only thing that could hurt it would be if they don't release the game outside of Japan.  I'm hoping that at the very least, the game will get an english subtitled Hong Kong release.

Convince me!

I need to see videos, I haven't bothered checking it out. I would prefer it on a home console, I mean even on DS dont you just use a virtual keyboard to type out object names?

I haven't imported it yet.  I should have done it back when Play-Asia was selling it for $30.  It is back up to $60ish now.  I can't find any youtube videos of actual gameplay for it yet.  That is the only thing holding me back.

I think Nostalgia for the DS will be overlooked. I'm much more interested in this than that Scribbling kids game! *runs away from the angry haters!*
