Shenmue 3.
Pikmin 3.
Dino Crisis 4.
Vagrant Story 2.
Psychonauts 2.
- NiGHTS Air - Early stage NiGHTS sequel for the Saturn that got cancelled due to the console's short shelf life
- Last Window: Secret of Cape West - fuck Reggie and NOA for this one getting cancelled.
- Chrono Break - More than any other this is the one I'm bummed about. Square registered the name and then once the merger happened it simply disappeared.

Huh? Never knew about that one

Oh, yeah. Nintendo should just finish it up, and release it on VC. Or remake it for 3DS.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NiGHTS_into_Dreams If you scroll down to the Sequel subcategory you can read about it here. I had a few facts wrong. The name was Air Nights and it would have been for the Dreamcast, but whatever. It's still a game that didn't get released.
Shenmue 3, thanks for reminding me.
Robio, just import the euro version of Secret of Cape west. DS's are region free and its all in english anyway.
We know a new Pikmin game is in development. What other cancelled games can you think of? Starcraft Ghost is a big one.
Or how about games that were greatly revised like how Splinter Cell Conviction originally was compared to what was eventually released?

Or what in the hell happened to the developer, Swingin' Ape Studios? As far as I know they made ONE game, Metal Arms: Glitch In The System, then got bought by Blizzard to supposedly be their "console team". Haven't heard a word about them since Ghost was canned, which I thought could have been the next Metroid Prime.
Metal Arms was a great fuckin' game. A cross between Halo and Ratchet & Clank. And some of the level design Bungie seemed to rip off in Halo 2 in the alien levels.
Bumpy Trot 2 (Steambot Chronicles).
And mostly just because I like saying "Bumpy Trot".

I always wanted that game, but I heard it was rock hard.

It was, but very satisfying. Hard in a fair way, not Devil May Cry 3 cheesy hard.
There's a pretty big list of projects that never were.
I would have liked to see the Factor 5 pilotwings or the 4th Rogue Squadron game: Blue Harvest which was in production by former Factor 5 devs before the lawsuit.
