Extraction.

You were right, it's really good.  Looks great as well.

I can't remember my impressions, it was good but too short and has little replay value. I still prefer it to Dead Space as it has much more personality and I didn't really like being all alone in Dead Space, it got boring. Extraction should have been a more traditional shooter though going by what Eurocom did next: Goldeneye Wii is probably my favourite FPS of all time.

Loved the feeling of isolation, despair and madness in the original Dead Space.  Reminded me of Tarkovsky's Solaris.  I enjoyed the "four buddies" vibe of Extraction but it made it feel less heavy and oppressive and that was something I considered good about the original.

Never played Golden Eye on the N64 because it made me sick (motion sick).  Maybe I ought to try the Wii-make.

I think I need to make myself an end point for Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise. I've been playing it for quite a while now and I don't know when I'd be done if I were to get every award. I'm finally replaying BioShock for the first time in years. Then I'll move on to BioShock 2 and my first replay of Infinite.

Make the end point getting all awards, then.

I've been playing The Witcher 3 and Blazblue: Chrono Phantasma Extend. The Witcher 3 is going to take me a looooong time to finish which is not a bad thing mind you.

Still trying to plod my way through DQM 3 (I'm too close to the end to quit now). And now that I finished Mother, I'm trying out Earthbound (Snes) again and see just how much of the first game was brought into the sequel.

Finished Her Story, started Grow Home but had to stop due to videocard overheating (shit, have you seen that game? It's no surprise!) so played through all endings to unlock BBL in Hatoful Boyfriend, another game without graphics. Worst of all, I can't play Dirt 3. Sad

So if I had a conversation with a talented Japanese development team, which went somewhat along the following lines of the one below.  And then they went on to make a game as a result of it ... which would be the game I have been playing for the last two or three days.  What game am I playing?  It's really quite obvious so, no more hints.

"Devs:  Name a couple of your favourite games.

Bugs:  Zelda.  Shadow of the Colossus.

Devs:  What do you like about Zelda?

Bugs:  Everything.  Mainly the dungeons:  The elemental themes.  The environmental puzzles.  How they open up the more you work at them.  The bosses.

Devs:  Do you enjoy exploring the vast open world in Zelda?

Bugs:  Yes, but oviously it's not my favourite thing about it.

Devs:  What do you like about SotC?

Bugs:  Duh, the bosses.  Also the bleakness and the permeating sombreness and silence.

Devs:  In both games you're ultimately trying to save the girl.  You like that sort of thing?

Bugs:  Yes, obviously.

Devs:  In one of them the girl is dead, in the other merely captured.  Which do you prefer?

Bugs:  Both.  I don't know.  Surprise me.

Devs:  Do you like the combat in 3D Zeldas?

Bugs:  Yes, but I don't go crazy.  I prefer something a little more involved, though not too convoluted or overly elaborate.

Devs:  Sort of like Castlevania?  With leveling up and light RPG elements?

Bugs:  Yes, that's grand!

Devs:  What's your favourite Studio Ghibli movie?

Bugs:  Spirited Away.

Devs:  Why?

Bugs:  I don't know.  I love all the batshit crazy Japanese lore and the dark fantasy and stuff and the scary characters.

Devs:  Ok then...

Bugs:  Ok then..."

Come on!  Ninokuni would practically tick none of those at all.  Plus, you know I played that years ago when it was first released.  I wouldn't have time to play that type of game again.
