Bloodborne: The Old Hunters, currently just doing the NG+ stuff to get to Falcor so I can open up the DLC, but god damn this game is so good.

Very tempted to get a PS4 with the GOTY edition Bloodborne.

I finished New Super Mario Bros. 2 completely.  As in got the 3 big coins in every level including all the ones in the three "hidden" worlds.  So that's out of the 3DS for good and a few days ago I started on Mario & Luigi 4 (it's not actually called that, it's called Dream something or other).  I'm about three hours into it so far.  Very mediocre, the worst one in the series yet by some margin.  Story is shit and the gameplay is same ole same ole.  Tempted to cancel my pre-order for the new one.  Or maybe the odd numbered iterations in the series will continue to be good (though 2 is not that bad either).  Guess I will try to at least finish it before I move on to something else to justify paying forty euros for this (or however much new 3DS games cost)

Have been playing Stealth Inc. 2

They should have stuck with the original name of Stealth Bastard.  This game is tough as nails.  I'm only in the second area and I'm hopelessly stuck.  It's a great game in many ways but I don't know if I will be able to finish it.

After finishing Stealth Inc. 2 I dabbled in and out of a few games but I haven't really stuck with any of them yet.  But a few of those at least are ones I will definitely return to.

FAST racing neo.  I beat the four cups in the slowest of the three divisions (come to think of it, this game should count as beaten).  I love it and look forward to playing more of it here and there.

Legend of Kay.  It's a great game despite the mega cringe-worthy dialogue and voice acting.  It's like a PS2 era action-platformer but more Zelda like.  This may well be the game I next play to completion.

The Swapper.  This is really awesome and it's what I've been playing for the last couple of days.  It has atmosphere you can cut with a knife and gives you a kind of feeling of existential isolation in space worthy of Tarkovsky's Solaris (let alone Dead Space).  It's one of those games which are built on one single concept but it is such a good one that they can make a whole game of it without making it feel tired.

Some advice for the Swapper.

You've probably worked this out by now but holding the duplicate button slows time.

The purple light blocks you from duplicating AND swapping.

On missions where you are denied access to your full compliment of clones, you have to either kill some off or merge some together by touching them.

Good luck.

Geez, Solaris is going to be a massive disappointment when I finally watch it... Nyaa

The Swapper is cool, though.

You can always choose to watch the remake for some George Clooney man-arse.

Yes, I had to firgure those things early on as there was one bit where I had to fall down a big height that's when I figured how to slow time, make a clone, become them and repeat for as long as necessary.  I like that there is no handholding.  I just hope the puzzles don't get too esoteric.

Just reached this part now.  I have about 40 orbs or so.  I'm starting to think this game is a little too esoteric for me.  And it is making me depressed in the same way Solaris and Dead Space make me depressed.  Not what I should be playing before I go back to work tomorrow.

edit: May not be too bad after all.  Played a bit more and I'm now close to 100 orbs.  It seems each puzzle gives you many more after a certain point.  Who knows, I may finish this after all.

Nothing could be more existentially isolating than George Clooney man arse.

Have barely had the opportunity to play anything recently, but at what time tonight would your night owling take place?

Can't, i got a busy weekend.

My night own nights can be Monday Night going into Tuesday (so I can be awake at 6am on a Tuesday my time for instance), or Wednesday going into Thursday. Namasayin. In theory I can also do saturday nights, but I'm usually drunk.

Right at the end of the game I was missing 9 orbs. I collected the only orb left on the map and it gave me 9.

So yeah, I learned that right at the end. One collected orb = much more than 1 orb

I played like I was drunk, so it probably wouldn't matter.

This weekend I didn't play anything for too long.  I started Shovel Knight and played four or five levels.  It's good but I guess all the hype had me expecting something phenomenal and it isn't all that.  Still a fun indie game, if taken for what it is (and not what it isn't) I suppose.

I saw the Shovel Knight amiibo at Gamestop yesterday.   Still wonder if I should have bought it.

This weekend I mostly played Teslagrad which was a very fun experience even if it was a bit on the short side.  After finishing it I tried Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash.  I am a big fan of Mario Tennis in general but this iteration just has nothing to do.  No championship, no single player campaign of any sort.  The fundamentals are there, and it plays a decent game of tennis, but unless you have friends for local multiplayer you will just have nothing to do.  Game is clearly unfinished and I just don't see this getting fleshed out via DLC the Splatoon was.  Which is a shame.

This morning I started Guacamelee Super Turbo.  I finished the vanilla version of the game on PS3 but it is so good that I don't mind playing it again to see the extra challenges in this version, and just in order to enjoy it.

I am playing Guacamelee STCE and loving it so damn much.  Everything about this game is pure bliss.  The funny thing is, I played this game in its entirety on the PS3 like two years ago or something.  And I oved it back then too.  But for some reason almost everything about it seems new and wonderful like I'm playing it for the first time.  Apart from Inferno with the challenges tower, I can't even tell what's new for this edition and what was there already.

The soundtrack is also perfect.  I fuckin love the electro-mariachi house tunes.  They are almost like classic Basement Jaxx but with cheaper samples and synthesizers.  I bought it on bandcamp because I will try throwing some of these into sets when I play.
