Also I think I may be the only person here who watched the South Africa v Mexico game.  The game was as open as they get and each team could have scored at least 3 goals and won it.  That it ended 1 - 1 I think is more to do with neither team having a single good enough striker to take their chances.

If I had missed that game, I wouldn't have the balls to call myself a futbol fan again.

This game showed in a nutshell what the Mexican team is. Incapable to put the ball away unless they generate 10 or 15 chances for each goal scored, and with a defensive line hair-raisingly slow, which any average forward can put to shame with speed alone.

That, and the stubborn decisions of Aguirre, who is hellbent in keeping players that have no business at all in the national representation.

Luckily, France is playing even shittier, but I have moderate hopes after today's match.

Also, please, don't try to explain fútbol to these heathens. It's like trying to explain the beauty of a haiku to a chimp.

Welcome to the world of football LOL

I remember this tournament where, I think it was the Dutch, they had these annoying orange horns to toot constantly. It drove me mad.

Are kids in the stands, seriously what the hell. If I were sitting next to some dude that all he did was toot the horn for the entire game I would punch him.

No,  its some stupid African horn that should have been forbidden for various reasons, but no one says something for fear of being called a racist. In the World Cup in Germany, you did not have these morons blowing their retarded horn.

LOL WTF?

Greece's first game in half an hour.  Against Korea.  Greece has a terrible team and makes me wonder how they made it to the final stages.  But their draw is pretty tough.  I expect they will lose three times and go home, but who knows ... stranger things have happened

In 2004 they managed to put together a string of games with impenetrable defence and win them by a single goal margin.  It was admirable, but it's not something that can be repeated.

There's just not enough talent in the team.  Too slow, no creativity, they lack even basic passing and moving the ball skills.  very few of the players even play in a decent league, and even then they are bench players.

My summation of the first half:  South Korea is a poor side, and Greece is even poorer.  Nigeria and Argentina to go through from this group by default

So I got the first of my three predictions correct, yes including the score.

Two more games to go.  Hmm i'm now thinking Nigeria v Argentina is bound to have more than two goals, but oh well, i'll stick to my prediction.  1 -1 draw.

Park wasn't even the best player on the field. Well Park was, but not that one. Nyaa

Of course they're not going to be challenging for the title or anything, but they're a solid team.

You better not let me down, Englishmen. US supporters are going to be annoying as hell if you manage to lose this one. You can lose any other match, but not this one. LOL

Which is precisely why we will lose. I reckon it will be a draw or 1-0 England.

I'm pulling for England!!  The worse the US does the less interest this country will have in soccer, and it will be all the better for it.
