I tried to watch this. I saw that the first game ended in a tie, a TIE, in a tournament. Anyway so I put on the game going on now. Why does it sound like they are playing in a bee hive? I just see people kicking a ball around a large field for an hour, meh.

I'll maybe try again tomorrow but I expect the same results. I will watch the championship game and that is it.

LOL That's exactly why my mother said.

Bee hive? It's the noise of whizzing horns and noise maker toy things.

You need to watch a match with two good teams, or one where America is playing. USA play England, tommorrow I think, try that one.

Its a constant hum, who the hell constantly uses those horns and noise maker things. You do that when something important is happening not all the damn time.

Welcome to the world of football LOL

I remember this tournament where, I think it was the Dutch, they had these annoying orange horns to toot constantly. It drove me mad.

That's because it was a crap match. Don't worry about ties, once the group phase is over you will get penalties. Does not matter how boring the match is, penalties are nerve wrenchingly awesome. Like watching a ticking time-bomb

Are kids in the stands, seriously what the hell. If I were sitting next to some dude that all he did was toot the horn for the entire game I would punch him.

No,  its some stupid African horn that should have been forbidden for various reasons, but no one says something for fear of being called a racist. In the World Cup in Germany, you did not have these morons blowing their retarded horn.

Game tonight was awful.  Vader, terrible game to try and get interested in football.  We knew this was the worst group so no real surprises here.  All four should be disqualified.

Tomorrow's games (and my predictions)

Republic Korea v Greece (Korea to win 2 - 0)

Argentina v Nigeria (1 -1)

England v USA (USA to win 1 - 2)

I just don't understand how there can be ties.  That's such a foreign concept. When you're in a competition there needs to be a winner and a loser. Fuck ties.

One game was 0-0. Zero to Zero, the game might as well not have happened, it was a non event.

^ Yoda's video

Holy crap what an idiot. I love how he insults the spectacle of our awesome football meanwhile we got this MEGA World Cup concert going on, starring a ton of major American singers. Nice. He is funny though.

EDIT: I changed my mind, I love this guy!!!

Exactly. Both teams should have stayed home, gotten real jobs, and contributed to their national economies. Instead they kicked a ball back and forth and did nothing. Christ, I'd sooner watch a group of 5 year olds play t-ball.

i'm sure you guys will understand this once explained, so here it is.  the tournament starts and the teams play in groups of four in round robin fashion.  of the four teams, 2 will go on to the knockout stages.  A win gives the winner 3 points, while a tie gives each team 1 point (the one point loss is the penalty for neither team playing to win).  The aim of all four teams in each group is to go to the next stage.  While winning is the ideal situation, losing would mean that they have 0 points while one of their opponents has 3 with just 2 games left, in other words, very difficult situation to come back from.  So they play first so as not to lose, and then go for a win if the situation allows it.  So strategically the tie has some significance.  It may be less spectacular, but I'm trying to explain why it exists.

Also I think I may be the only person here who watched the South Africa v Mexico game.  The game was as open as they get and each team could have scored at least 3 goals and won it.  That it ended 1 - 1 I think is more to do with neither team having a single good enough striker to take their chances.

Fuckin US guys can you stop whining and concentrate on getting behind your team (the US is a very well organised and competent side) and beating England tonight?  I've put money on it damnit.

And they cheated their way to the WC finals with henri's handballs.  Ireland should have been there instead.

Did you see the son of a bitch try to claim a penalty for handball last night?  I thought that was rich.

Group A is a complete joke.  None of these four teams would have had the slightest chance of making it through any of the other groups.

Yeah, the referee looked like he was about to tell him to eff off.
