That's a very good point. I'm a gamer on a strict budget, so the lower price of most Wii games really does help a lot.

Yeah, the other system has far, far better games . . . like The Conduit!

And one system has SUPER MARIO FUCKING GALAXY, and the other does not. But it does have LBP... hmmm. This is hard.
Didnt expect me to switch sides huh?
Ask, in the end its all on you, you know your taste in games, we dont. Go with the system that has more games you want, I dont think its the complicated.
Looking at it from a general point of view, owning a 360 and a PS3 is kind of the same thing. Wii offers something completely different. I have a PS3 and Wii and I am very satisfied, I'll get a 360 in time to play the exclusives I missed but its no rush. If I had a PS3 and 360 I would feel real left out cause there is this entire other segment of this generation I am missing. Now the Wii hasn't had a real GOTY type game in over a year for me, so that can be a problem as well. The quality of games on average on the PS3 is flat out better than on the wii. But again the majority of those games are on 360 as well.
As for first party vs first party. Sony is more consistant at this point, every year you can expect to have some awesome quality games coming, GOTY contender type games. Nintendo, you get a wave of awesome and then are left wondering when the next wave hits. But when that wave hits, you get some of the best games ever.
Dvader said:I just thought of this, if you go backwards on me and ask if I had to get rid of one of my two consoles which would it be? Well I would throw my Wii away before you even finish the question. I don't see the wii as a primary console, I could not go this generation just on the wii. But i rather have a wii combo than both 360/PS3.
If I had to throw away one console to save the other two my 360 would be out of here in no time. Gears would be the only thing I'd miss, the rest I can get on PS3.

No seriously, thanks for all the advice guys! And Vader, you make some great valid points. I appreciate it.
I've decided to get the Wii. I always wanted one and I already have a 360. And when it came down to it, if I got a PS3 I'd only be getting it for one game which is Uncharted 2. I don't think it's really worth getting for one game, even though the game may be good.
I don't want to be too selfish so having both the 360 and the PS3 would be pushing it I think. But having the Wii and the 360 is like having a DS and PSP, which is a good combo.
I think that's the most sensible and right way to go. Plus, like you guys mentioned, the Wii games are pretty cheap, so that's a huge plus!
I guess I'm finally going to get Smash Bros. Brawl. I always wanted this game!

It'll take me awhile to save up for one, but it shouldn't take that long. I'll enjoy the Wii until then.

:lol
Hey Iwata, I bought my Wii a year ago, will I get a refund because of the price cut? Maybe a free game?
Where's that damn Metroid Dread!!!!???Iwata said:You've made a very wise decision. I will reward you by lowering the price of the Wii to $199.99 starting on Sunday. Be sure to use those savings to pick up a copy or two of Wii Music while you're at it; it's spectacular!

Oh, you wanted it? I'm terribly sorry. We only made one copy of Metroid Dread (for my personal collection), and I just sent it to SteelAttack. Perhaps I could interest you in our very popular Metroid Prime Trilogy instead? It's spectacular!

Why are you shocked? Most people have a combo of either one of the HD systems and a Wii because it gives them the most variety.
It's not a which console is the best thread, it's not PS3 vs Wii thread. It's a: I already own a 360 so what should I get as a partner console thread.

while this is valid if you are talking about new releases ... the opposite is true for slightly older games. ps3 games (the ones which are even remotely mainstream) go down to half-price in a matter of months when they are released in the platinum/greatest hits range. i hadn't thought about this prior to getting one but the ps3 has become my hobo-gourmet console. i get all the top games at half-price. in the last 2-3 weeks alone i got resistance 2, killzone 2 and disgaea 3 for £15 each. and i do not plan to pay any more than that for uncharted 2, ratchet and clank crack in time, GT5, god of war III, arkham asylum, inFamous etc (good things come to those who wait). i think the only games so far which i paid full price for are Demon's Souls, Street Fighter IV, BlazBlue and Valkyria Chronicles, and out of those forth coming i will only get the last guardian at full price.
Nintendo games on the other hand remain at full-price forever and Nintendo seems to be completely ignoring a "player's choice" range this go around. Galaxy, Smash, Metroid, Zelda, Punch-Out, Resort and more have been lingering close to full-price forever.

True for Nintendo games, but 3rd party games see similar drops. LKS can be bought for £11 for instance and games like Madworld and HOTD are at hobo prices.

That's true in regards to 1st party games, but not 3rd. Plenty of very good Wii games saw their prices drop just as quickly. MadWorld, The Conduit, de Blob, Deadly Creatures, and many others saw big price drops after a month on the shelves.
