Those are games I have not put in the system yet, completely unplayed, I'll get to them soon.
I never buy a game don't play it, though occasionally there are some WiiWare and VC games that I'll pick up for a couple hours and never go back to. Ogre Battle 64 may very well become one of those games.
As far as uncompleted games that may languish on the shelf forever, there aren't too many as I'm good about completing a game before I go out and buy a new one (unless it completely sucks and I toss it to the wolves), but I've got a few. The most notable would be New Super Mario Bros Wii. Got very far in it, and then I got distracted. Aside from that Muramasa and Silent Hill Shattered Memories - though to be fair I never really liked Shattered Memories that much.

The only game I have that I haven't played yet is Infamous but that's only because I just bought it a couple weeks ago with several other games and I'm working up to it. It'll be next after I finish Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction which I'm currently playing.

Short answer: Yes.
Long Answer: I buy games as they come available and I do eventually play them. Of the 29 games I have beaten this year 15 of them have been from this generation, so in my case the backlog does get consumed.

No. I don't think we're loaded or anything. But some how we manage to find the games we want, well, I do anyway.
Other than the must-have games that I pre-plan beforehand to purchase, the rest of the stuff I usually get when they're on sale or on a price drop.
And about getting games we may never play, for me, it's just cool to have even though I may never finish them or even spend time on them. If that makes sense.
It's just another hobby.

If I see a bunch of games I'm interested in a great prices I will have to get them, and they will become part of a backlog. I get to them all eventually, though!

I guess I just thought of the topic because I have like 4 360 games waiting to be played and about 2-3 Wii games that I can't be bothered to touch, even if they are good.

There are certain sales where you end up buying like 3 or 4 games extremely cheap, then things back up.
