I saw highlights of Liverpool vs some chick named Chelsea and it ended 4-4.  So it should go into overtime right, nope. I have no clue what it means but they say something about an aggregate score so magically Chelsea won the game. WTF.

You mean to tell me who advances in this tournament doesn't have to do with who wins the actual game. Thats why SOCCER sucks.

Soccer sucks for a lot of reasons.  It's just kicking a ball. My son is 2 and he can do that.  I'm not impressed.  Same with car racing.  It's driving in a circle.  How do people find it interesting?

Chealsea won the first match 3-1 away, but home they played 4-4.

So the aggregate score is 7-5. If the aggregate is the same like 8-8, then you check who made the most goals away. Pretty simple, every goal counts. If everything is equal you have a overtime of 30 minutes. If then it is not decided you get the dreaded penalties.

Good ones, with stuff that actually happens rather than a ball being kicked around a huge ass field for an hour or two. Nyaa

For me its the good kind of Football, thats easily my favorite sport and by far the most popular here in America. Then you got Basketball and baseball. Even hockey is ok, its a better version of soccer. Same concept but a smaller arena, its on ice so its faster paced, and they get to beat the crap out of each other.

Handegg is the only sport boring enough to require cheerleaders. Baseball is just boring. Basketball and Hockey are awesome.

You guys, you always have to have your own sports. Why can't you be like the rest of the world. It's Football, Rugby and Cricket. No one wants to play a Handegg world cup.

Yeah seriously is the only logical way. In basketball you can trash someone 100-0 and then lose 111-110 and you are equal. Fuck that, does not make sense. How the fuck is that fair, you trashed him and he barely beat you?!

P.S. Champions League is a tournament there are different rules in normal competitive play.

Cause the rest of the world is boring, Soccer is like the lowest common denominator in sports, thats why its the most popular in the world. All you need is a ball and your foot, yay you are playing soccer.

No one wants to play a handegg world cup cause they fear for their lives. No country can make a team that wouldn't get crippled if they played any NFL team.

All that matters is the game at hand, why play a set game then, just have a scoring session for a certain amount of time, team that scores the most over the span of a few days wins, WTF is that.  There is a reason you play set games, all that should matter is winning. It should not matter how much you win by, all that matters is that when the time runs out you have more points than the other team.

Thats why leagues go by win-loss and not by points scores.

And I understand that this is a special set of rules for this tournament, I bet the majority of the sport has the usual winning a game is what matters rules. So dont try to defend this, its stupid. I assume its for the first rounds only right, it becomes a normal win or go home tournament as it goes on right.

The Champions League is a elimination bout. You play twice and then one of you goes home. Plain and simple. In Football it is much harder to score a goal than it is to make a point in Basketball. So trashing someone with 4-0 is not common. Losing 1-0 and making it equal would not make sense, and you will have to play again under your system.

It is an interesting system, for example you win 2-1 at home. Away it is 0-0. You think awesome, than suddenly they score 1-0. You can see the game change imediately. They scored one goal away and you zero. So they are through, now you suddenly have to change your whole gameplan. Seeing a team panic is awesome.

After 2 matches the aggregate is counted and one is eliminated. But you know that during the play so things can change. Winning does matter, but also the bigness of your win. However you can go through by playing 1-1 away and 0-0 home, so the system is not flawless.

Normal competion is very different, there you have 18 or 20 teams. For example Holland has 18 teams. Everyone plays against everyone home and away. So you have 34 matches in a season. You play 90 minutes and if you win you get 3 point, lose 0 point and draw 1 point. The points are tallied and the one that has the most points win the Dutch Championship. Than that team is qualified for the Champions League. Some countries can send only one team (the champion) others have as much as 4 (1st to 4 go).

World Cup and European Cup is totally brutal. You play in a poule with 3 other teams in the beginning. You play three matches (Winning is 3 points, losing 0 and draw 1) and the first two pass. Then it is a  brutal elimination round. You play once, if you lose go home. You win the next opponent. There is no score aggregate there.

Basically the two teams play each other at home and away. If you win away it means more, I think. Overall they add up the scores from the games or something.

yeah hence aggregate.  away goals matter when the aggregate score is a tie.  liverpool - chelsea (1 - 3), chelsea - liverpool (4 - 4).  aggregate: chelsea 7 - liverpool 5.  hence chelsea are through.

tonight was awful.  god what boring games, the both of them.  wish all 4 teams could have been disqualified.  steel i had to stand up and yell BALLS (i did it at the time of the stupid penalty and red card) ... so, here's to you mate!

dvader man you crack me up so bad.  watch rugby, it's like handegg but for men.  NFL pussies wear padding on everything.

and hockey is not what you think.  that's ice-hockey.  do you have real hockey in the US?

and football is the best sport in the world, to watch and to play.  that's why it's so popular.  the only bad thing about football which needs to change is the refereeing.  it needs video refereeing and fast because as it is now it allows for stupid bias and mistakes to judge games and that is not right.  there is no reason why there couldn't be video refereeing and it's stupid they haven't implemented it alread

For the record I'm a baseball fan.  It's a sport that actually requires skill.  You don't have to kick a large ball into a huge open goal defended by a guy that takes up about 10% of the space.  Yeah that's real tough.  Baseball is all about strategy, reflexes, grace, and the ability to handle pressure both one on one and as a group.  Nothing else offers that.

Yes I know football is the best sport in the world, Soccer is what sucks ass. Nyaa

Do you know why the NFL wears pads... casue they would DIE if they did not. These are not tiny skinny white dudes humping each other in a pile, these hits would kill a person if they did not have helmets or padding. The average NFL player loses about 15 years off their life expectancy cause of the damage they take throughout their career. Good lord, talking about Rugby...seriously.

Yes of course its ice hockey, there is land hockey? It must suck, like soccer.

Baseball is a beautiful sport. It really is unlike anything else, there is no time, it takes as long as it needs to take. As you stated there is always a one on one situation with the pitcher and batter.
