In fifth! Which will be higher than my ranking at the end of the year.
- Inside - Switch - 03/01 - Very enjoyable game. Great graphics, atmosphere, animation... doesn't outstay its welcome. Reminded me a lot of Little Nightmares, although with less complex puzzles. - 9/10
- Catherine Full Body - Switch - 08/02 - still a great, unique game, both in concept as well as in gameplay. The additions are done very well, blending in perfectly with the original content. - 9/10
- MH:W Iceborn - PC - 12/02 - great expnasion to the base game. More monster variety, great new area, good additions to the gameplay. But still more dumbing things down to erradicate any and all friction that was typical for the series. Also: not being able to start story missions that feature cutscenes in co-op sucks balls. - 8/10
- Celeste - Xbone - 13/02 - enjoyable challenging platforming without ever getting frustrating. the artstyle didn't sit very well with me, obviosly aiming for a retro aesthetic, but with too many colours to really feel retro. The story also didn't blend in well with the gameplay in my opinoin. - 8/10
- Gato Roboto - Xbone -21/02 - a simple metroidvania with an even simpler graphical style with one fore and one background colour. It's all too simple, there's very little elegance here. - 4/10
- Hob - Switch - 20/03 - could have been much greater but held back by some strange design decissions. The game seems more interested in showing you how clever the devs were instead of making you feel clever yourself - 5/10
- Donkey Kong country - Switch, original released on SNES - 07/04 - you can see why it was great for it's time, but without the graphical wow effect, nothing can mask the poor level design today. - 5/10
- Genesis Noir - Xbox - 10/04 - a very unique game, staging the big bang and all of evolution as an incredibly classy and jazzy storyline about trying to prevent a murder that's already happened. - 8/10
- AER Memories of Old - Swith - early july - a walking simulator where you fly around. More interactive diorama than convincing game world. - 4/10
- Stonefly - Switch - 09/08 - a game in which you pilot a bug mech through treetop canopies in search for a stolen mech. Cool concept let down by repetitive gameplay and grinding. - 5/10
- NMH3 - Switch - 27/12 - an incoherent mess of a game, saved by the actual combat mechanics - 6/10

1. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 [PS2] – 1st of January to 4th of January
The PS2 makes a huge improvement technically but something's missing that THPS2 had. And the soundtrack is forgettable this time. Still, 8/10
2. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 [PS4] - 4th of January to 6th of January
I sped through this and now I wish there were more to do, maybe bonus objectives or even user-created objectives. 8/10
3. Horizon Chase Turbo [PS4] – 27th of December 2020 to 13th of January
Not too bad but it gets repetitive. 7/10
4. Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition [PS4] – 15th of January to 22nd of January
A lot of fun but what's with the dialogue? 8/10
5. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End [PS4] – 24th of January to 4th of February
Story, graphics, questionable design choices. 7/10
6. What Remains of Edith Finch [PS4] - 6th of February to 6th of February
Story, surprising design choices. 8/10
7. Gone Home [PS4] – 8th of February to 8th of February
I think I liked it more the first time. Must have drained it of its novelty. 8/10
8. Cities: Skylines [PS4] – 9th of February to 17th of February
Good for a few practice runs and a proper playthrough, but I can't see myself going back to it very much. 7/10
9. Tekken 7 [PC] – 20th of February to 27th of February
It's great to play a proper fighting game again, though the story parts are a bit underwhelming. 8/10
10. Katamari Damacy REROLL [PC] – 27th of February to 28th of February
Feels insubstantial compared to Katamari Forever. I was surprised by how quickly it ended. 7/10
11. Burnout 3: Takedown [PS2] - 28th of February to 10th of March
I forgot how annoying crashing is in these games. 8/10
12. Cyberpunk 2077 [PC] – 16th of February to 13th of April
Featuring the inevitable open world fatigue. Had a good time though. How can I live without ray tracing now? 8/10
13. Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines [PC] - 16th of April to 1st of May
Gameplay can be a bit rough at times, but I really enjoyed the story and characters. 8/10
14. Civilization VI [PC] – 16th of February to 30th of May
I could have kept going but I wanted to give other games a chance. 9/10
15. Equilinox [PC] – 5th of June to 7th of June
A pretty good simulation game but not as dynamic as I'd have liked. 7/10
16. Resident Evil 2 [remake] [PC] – 8th of June to 13th of June [Claire A]
– (13th of June) 1st of December to 2nd of December [Leon B]
Pretty good. 9/10
17. The Outer Worlds [PC] – 14th of June to 22nd of June
Didn't last long enough that I got too much open world fatigue. 8/10
18. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4 [PS2] – 23rd of June to 3rd of July
Possibly the hardest game in the series. Also by far the biggest up to this point. 8/10
19. Islanders [PC] – 2nd of July to 4th of July
Something light and quick reminiscent of Equilinox. 7/10
20. Dragon Ball Fighterz [PC] – 26th of June to 1st of September
Fun game but the story mode was a bit repetitious. 8/10
21. Dirt 5 [PC] – 13th of September to 22nd of September
Like a pared back Motorstorm. 7/10 if I'm being critical
22. Superliminal [PC] – 27th of September to 28th of September
Weird game. 8/10
23. The Stanley Parable [PC] – 25th of September to 26th of September
I thought there were more branches than this. 8/10
24. Portal [PC] – 1st of October to 1st of October
A pretty remarkable game. 9/10
25. Portal 2 [PC] – 2nd of October to 4th of October
Easier than I remembered. 9/10
26. Crash Bandicoot [PC] – 9th of October to 15th of October
Finally, the terrible save system is gone. 7/10
27. Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back [PC] – 15th of October to 23rd of October
To my surprise I prefer the first game. 7/10
28. Outer Wilds [PC] – 25th of October to 2nd of November
Obsidian Entertainment went in a very unexpected direction with this one. 8/10
29. Resident Evil 3 [remake] [PC] – 3rd of November to 5th of November
Though I prefer the original 3 to the original 2, I prefer the remake of 2 to the remake of 3. 8/10
30. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard [PC] – 6th of November to 9th of November
The first few hours are mostly excellent, but it falls a bit later on. Still really good. 8/10
31. Resident Evil Village [PC] – 9th of November to 13th of November
It almost seemed like it could become my favourite Resident Evil game until it couldn't. 8/10
32. Forza Horizon 5 [PC] - 14th of November to 4th of December (tentative)
A solid enough racing game. 7/10
33. Resident Evil: Director’s Cut [PS1] – 4th of December to 7th of December
The later games were a big improvement. 6/10
34. Parasite Eve [PS1] - 8th of December to 21st of December
I was expecting something more like RE, but apparently that's the second game. 6/10
35. Penko Park [PC] – 26th of December to 30th of December
A good Pokémon Snap-esque game. 8/10
By Miu Watanabe.
1. Hades
Or well at least one successful run of it. I'm not feeling the gameplay all that much, but its considerably more enjoyable as an experience than Bastion and Transistor, which aside from the bitchin soundtrack are merely okay for me. Maybe this is only okay, but I think its more solid in terms of its enemies and has enjoyable feeling action, if not particularly deep action. 7/10
First game on the board.
Finally! I finally beat Yakuza: Like a Dragon, my first completed game of this year. Such an excellent game that was fun, funny, and even heartwarming. I really dig the turn-based combat and all the JRPG referencing. My only gripe about the game is that there are a few severe difficulty spikes. A fantastic game nonetheless with an absolute ton of things to do. 9/10
This year I'm gonna beat... 7 games?
1. Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris - 23/01/2021
Jankiest online multiplayer I've ever played.
2. Resident Evil 6 - 24/01/2021
Capped off the playthrough of Leon's campaign from like two years ago. Awful.
3. Unravel Two - 30/01/2021
Bought this looking for a comfy chill-out game, but I got Dark Souls lite.
4. Hades - 18/02/2021
First successful run.
5. Frostpunk - 10/03/2021
THE CITY SURVIVED.
6. Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion - 23/03/2021
Vasari victory.
7. Far Cry 5 - 26/03/2021
Extremely repetitive, janky as fuck, but enjoyable with co-op.
8. Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion - 01/04/2021
Vasari victory.
9. Rayman Legends - 06/04/2021
You can tell the devs were having a lot of fun with this one.
10. Dishonored 2 - 19/04/2021
What really impressed me was how unique most levels were.
11. Dishonored 2 - Death to the Outsider - 12/05/2021
Dishonored 3 when?
12. Ninja Gaiden Sigma - 15/07/2021
Now I really wanna play Black.
13. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 - 09/08/2021
This game has the honour of being the final game I played with the PC controller I had since 2014. May it rest in peace.
14. Halo: Reach - 26/11/2021
What's this game about?
15. Bloodborne: The Old Hunters - 01/12/2021
If the main game was Normal this was Dante Must Die.
16. Bloodborne - 06/12/2021
I can confirm it was worth the 6 year wait.
17. Monster Hunter: World - 30/12/2021
I'm surprised I finished it this year, but I'm glad I did.
Finished Control, really good game. Love how the game and it’s dlc ties into both Quantum Break and Alan Wake. Story is pretty strange but in general it’s about entities from another dimension trying enter and take over. Combat is quite fun with some cool weapons and telekinesis powers. Minor gripes are that it can be pretty awkward trying to navigate around the place and a couple bosses are a bit on the annoying side when it comes to difficulty. There’s some really intense battles with enemies and the destructible environments are pretty impressive. 8/10

Never played quantum break, how much would I miss.

You can still fully enjoy Control for what it is, it’s just that the enemy in this game is the same in QB. There’s tons of files and stuff in this game that keeps everything explained and self contained.
January update (ok and one game from feb 1st)
I started the year strong. Travo hasn't updated so I wonder where he is at. Nice variety of stuff, I'm trying out a bunch of VR games and those usually go by quick.
I will be keeping track of everything I play on that backlogged site I linked above. Check it out for my entire game history (still in progress) and what I am currently playing.
