Since Bugsie absolutely hates my last puzzle-based level, I am now working on my first NON-PUZZLE Airship stage. It should be done sometime tomorrow...

Two things.  Why is everybody making puzzle levels as opposed to ones with honest to goodness satisfying platforming?  Mario games are renowned for the world's greatest platforming mechanics yet everybody seems to want to make puzzle levels all the time.  I know the obvious answer is, "Hey, why don't you make some platform levels if you want them that badly?"  Well, yeah ... don't got time to make.  Only tiny bit of free time, barely enough to play a few levels here or there ... so make me some great platforming levels.  Please!!

For the same reason untalented indie devs make "puzzle platformers". Nyaa

Due to nintendo's archaic account structure, I'd keep your physical copy just in case your wii u dies.

Should it ever die, it'll just be a blank copy anyway.  Mario Maker just seems like the kind of game you want to be able to dive into at a whim, without having to worry about getting the disc.  It's also cheaper on the eShop, and I can't shake the feeling that I payed too much for it in regards to the enjoyment I expect to get from playing it.  Eh, I'll just ponder it for a while more and one of 2 things will happen: either I just open it up one day regardless of having made up my mind, or my son will find it and will open it without me knowing.

Yes, I enjoyed those.  Though I missed out on a lot of the stuff in "what lies ... " because I can't use the cape very well.

Help from your friends I think I still haven't been able to finish though I'm getting there.

I'm currently trying to do the one with the ghost chasing.  That's one nasty fiendish level.

Well, since I'm stuck in the house with a possible flood outside this weekend, I'll have plenty of time to make a level or two.

Hope you get through it okay, Travo. I heard it could be a mess. We could get some flooding here too, but we are pretty far inland so the brunt of it wont hit us.

New level for all.

This morning I have been playing some of the new levels you guys have made for me.

Travo's new level: Fun.  But too short.  Some neat ideas though.

Ninty's two automatic levels: Fun to watch and to try and think how one goes about making this.  Must take so much time just doing trial and error.  I enjoyed the "choreography", especially in the second one.

Leo's Two-Three:  Some really neat ideas and very well put together.  Made more difficult by the lack of power ups but very satisfying to beat.  Highly highly recommended and I can't wait for more where this came from.

Sedirus autoscroll airship level.  This may well be the single best level I have played on Mario Maker yet.  Reminded me of those fearsome but wonderful SMB3 World 8 airship levels but done with SMB1 assets I had never seen previously.  Also the music is amazing and I don't recall having heard it before (though I suppose I must have).  I am tempted to call this a masterclass in Mario level design.  It's tight, tense, busy, fun and satisfying without being as frustrating as some of your previous levels.  I want to say more like this, but then again I can't wait to see what other amazing new ideas you will surprise me with.

Dvader:  Oh that's right.  DVader has made no new levels for me to play.  Nah hmm.  None.

SupremeAC: Oh I forgot.  Supreme bought the game but he doesn't even want to open it, let alone make me some levels.  Useless.  Open the game and get making levels now!

Archangel: Hmm if memory serves me right you announced having bought the game a few days ago (along some other game I fail to recall ;P )  Hope you aren't not making me levels because you are too busy playing that silly car game.

GG: Hasn't even managed to buy the game yet though supposedly he decided to do so.  Stop playing that nasty painting game and go to a shop to get Mario Maker and start making me some levels.

Robio: You also need to get this game ... and get the boy to work on making some levels for us.  His Minecraft skills will be put to good use and we will all reap the benefits of that.

... That's it.  Lovey'all!!

I realized it was a little on the short side but apparently you have a limited supply of Cheeps.

I don't understand putting in place such restrictions.  Why don't they let people have full complete freedom?  It doesn't make sense.

How do you know if you've opened up every tool?  I've got five rows.

They have a message that appears on screen saying that everything was unlocked.

The bottom most row is always empty unless you use that row just to keep the tools you use the most.

SUPER MARIO MAKER LEVELS:

  • SMB Mix-Up! (1AB2-0000-0047-5A7D)
  • Storm the Castle (77BD-0000-00E0-A9C0)
