 The Grampa Simpson one? No-idea.

But seriously though, Sonic used to be great. Sonic 2 I regard as being the best thing Sega have ever done - because just about everything in that game is just brilliant; the music, the gameplay, the level design, everything is memorable and just outperforms the original in every way. Increasing the pace of the game and cutting down in levels was the best thing that could happen.

I still need to sit down and finish Sonic Adventure (preferably before the XBLA/PSN versions come out), but I find that to be the last truly good Sonic console game before the rest went to shit. Exception half being Unleashed - because the rest of the things you do as Sonic? I'm cool with.

That being said, the best thing related to Sonic would have to be a "Let's Play" (video play through) of Sonic the Hedgehog 2006. It's around 40 videos long, but everyone of them is worth it. The dudes literally go insane from playing it, and it's a marvel to see just how terrible that game really is.

Given that I suck at Mario 2D you can only imagine how much I sucked at Sonic.  I used to crawl through the levels.

I always liked Sonic for the music, and the character himself is appealing.  He seemed like a real character, not like the Mario, who always seemed like he had had a lobotomy.

Sonic Adventure on the Dreamcast blew me away.  I liked the voice they gave Sonic and also the cock-rock music.  I did much better in that than I had in the earlier games, and to this day really can't fault it.

Worst Sonic game ever? (Not counting game.com versions) Sonic Shuffle for the DC.  GOD awful.

Why dont we talk about how to make a good 3D sonic and whether it's possible to do justice to the speed based gameplay. Or whether it should just change and do something new or just copy an existing template?

ARGGHHH! I lost my edited post, whatever no one was going to read it anyway.

How to make a good 3D Sonic, well there are good 3D Sonic games it is just gameplay some people dont like. The 3D Sonic is very different than the old 2D Sonic. In 3D it is about speed, combos, getting high scores and I love it. I think Unleashed is the best version of this as it adds 2D sections and fixes many of the issues. Still there needs to be much more polish added, way too many camera glitches, falls to your death and such.

Now if you want to make a classic 2D sonic in 3D then it gets tricky. Adventure 1 was the closest to this. It is just too hard to balance speed and platforming in a 3D space. Maybe make a game with big portions of platforming mixed with speed sections, keep them separate.

Oh and above all, NO FRIENDS.

I'd give the franchise to Criterion.  If anyone understands how to do speed it is them.  You could have speed + platforming with enough visual cues that a platforming bit was going to come up.  I'd do it from a camera behind Sonic, not from the side.

Girl married to Sonic:

Colin: Ah, that makes sense that you wouldn't really know then.. Anyways, back to things fan girls are dying to know, what is the typical day in the life of being married to Sonic?
Alix :
Surprisingly not that great right now, we have a very unsettled life. I really want to settle down with him in a foreign country, we yearn for a new life. We don't see each other as often as we'd like.
Colin:What country do you two plan on moving to?  Back to Japan, or someplace new?
Alix : For the moment I would see us well in Thailand, it's a gorgeous country. We could live in luxury for very cheap. In the future I'd love to settle down in Japan, USA or United Arab Emirate. But it's very difficult for a french person, especially Japan. Normally you can not live in Japan if you don't have a job over there. Yeah you can stay 6 months, 1 year, then you eventually get repatriated. I think Japan is the most difficult country to infiltrate. But, everything is possible, God taught me that.
Colin: Well, at least you two have each other for the time being.  Unless he is also the fast thing alive... in the bedroom.
Alix : Ah! No! No! No! He may be be the fastest thing alive in games, but in the bedroom he's only and exclusively the hottest thing alive, haha!

I got it at launch only to find it was stylus-only controls, so I won't play it.  The missus played into it pretty deep but ultimately got bored with it.

I know a lot of reviews say the game is very mediocre, one dimensional RPG. Lot's of fetch quest, uninspired story, nothing that stands out.

I think it's worth checking out since it's cheap now. I may pick it up now that I think about it.

It might be because it's a god awful RPG too. And Bioware also forgot that despite the games being bad, Sonic games usually have good music.
