Actually bought more than I thought, but checking my Game Completion topic...
Considering 4 of the 7 games I beat this year weren't even FROM this year, my Top-Ten will have to include games I haven't finished yet.
For me what's telling is that there are so many games on that list I hadn't even heard of.

Forgot to take out one game from the Broken and Buggy elimination! Binding of Isaac, one of the two "exclusive" games for the New 3DS, has been buggy since day one and the developers have been SUPER dicks about fixing it fully. I'll never trust a Nicalis release again.
In no particular order of games I played that came out this year.
Everything is on the Wii U
- Xenoblade Chronicles X
- Shovel Knight Plague of Shadows
- Super Mario Maker
- Splatoon
- Freedom Planet
- Don't Starve: Giant Edition
- OlliOllie!
Two of the guys behind Isaac, Tyrone something and Ed McWhatever, besides actually making fun of people asking them to fix Isaac for N3DS, on the night of the Paris shootings, they were tweeting all night about a scavenger hunt going on that had something to do with Isaac. The entire rest of Twitter was offering condolences, helping people find loved ones, praying for peace... They didn't acknowledge the shootings, nor stop their Tweets in any way... at the end of the night when everything had settled in Paris, one of them made a really disgusting comment like: "Oh... something else went on tonight? Just hearing about it now." ...and that's it. Wouldn't stop marketing their game to even comment on the loss of human lives. Abso-fucking-lutely disgusting.
Games I had no interest in Finishing:
The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D (3DS)
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate (3DS)
Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. (3DS)
Bloodborne (PS4)
Final Fantasy: Type-0 HD (PS4)
Mortal Kombat X (PS4)
XenoBlade Chronicles X (N3DS)
Toukiden Kiwami (PS4)
Etrian Mystery Dungeon (3DS)
Dark Souls II: Scholars of the First Sin (PS4)
The Witcher III: Wild Hunt (PS4)
Puzzle & Dragon Z + Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition (3DS)
Shin Megami Tensei Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker (3DS)
Batman: Arkham Knight (PS4)
Legend of Legacy (3DS)
Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below (PS4)
The Talos Principle: Deluxe Edition (PS4)
Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance (PS4)
Transformers: Devastation (PS4)
Super Mario Maker (Wii U)
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 (PS4)
Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition (PS4)

Stella Glow (3DS)
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon (3DS)
Just Cause 3 (PS4)

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain (PS4)
Super Time Force Ultra (PS4)
Rocket League (PS4)
Tales from the Borderlands (PS4)
Axiom Verge (PS4)
Dying Light (PS4)
Pokemon Picross (3DS)
Fallout 4 is my GOTY so far. Bloodborne, Batman, MGS5, and Witcher were all great but Fallout 4 was the best overall package. Can Xenoblade top it? Tune in 3 months from now to find out!
Leo, how did you like STEAM on the 3DS? I bought it a while ago, still have it shrinkwrapped. Well, figuratively speaking, as the store opens up all the games themselves.
Good games, but not GOTY material. Here's where I start to explain:
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate (3DS)
Bloodborne (PS4)
Mortal Kombat X (PS4)
Dark Souls II: Scholars of the First Sin (PS4) -- Best version of this game, but not really a 2015 game.
The Witcher III: Wild Hunt (PS4)
Puzzle & Dragon Z + Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition (3DS)
Batman: Arkham Knight (PS4)
Legend of Legacy (3DS) -- Very much a Saga game. I love them, but there are faaar better RPG's out there.
Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below (PS4)
The Talos Principle: Deluxe Edition (PS4)
Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance (PS4)
Super Mario Maker (Wii U)
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 (PS4) -- The ultimate guilty pleasure. Nothing beats beating the CoD faithful at their own game. Will never be a GOTY for me though.
Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition (PS4)
Fallout 4 (PS4)
Yo-Kai Watch (3DS) -- One of the few Japanese games I've played where I said "I don't get it." Too many fetch quests, catching Yo-Kai is too much up to chance. NOT a worthy Pokemon successor.
Stella Glow (3DS)
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon (3DS)
Just Cause 3 (PS4)
DariusBurst: Chronicle Saviours (PS4)
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain (PS4)
Super Time Force Ultra (PS4)
Rocket League (PS4) -- As phemonenal as this game is, I'm not a sports fan of any kind.
Tales from the Borderlands (PS4)
Axiom Verge (PS4)
Dying Light (PS4)
Pokemon Picross (3DS) -- Love Picross games, but they're less of a game for me than a mental exercise. Like a Sunday morning Crossword puzzle.

I did enjoy it a lot. I liked the comic book style art and story panel look it had. I liked the sound effects. The strategy was very solid. I didn't even mind when you had to wait the duration of the enemy turn, as it built tension and suspense for me. This was later patched. The characters were kinda goofy, but they all had their specializations, which made them all useful. It was a VERY solid Intelligent Systems game, but it was BASHED by the critics. I don't remember exactly what made me stop playing, more circumstances than the game itself, but I never went back once I did.

I also have STEAM but haven't opened it yet. I have been craving a proper Advance Wars game, I hope it's on the cards. Though perhaps I should start playing all the Fire Emblems I have been saving!
But I think I prefer the less heavy approach of Advance Wars.

I bought Advance Wars: Days of Ruin for €14 the day before I picked up STEAM, so I'm all set.
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate (3DS)
Bloodborne (PS4) -- As much as I love From's stuff. As much as I was a die-hard King's Field fan, I haven't finished a single modern game of theirs. LOVED the game, but didn't like the lack of Magic and class differentiations of the Soul games!
Mortal Kombat X (PS4)
The Witcher III: Wild Hunt (PS4)
Puzzle & Dragon Z + Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition (3DS)

Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance (PS4)
Super Mario Maker (Wii U)
Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition (PS4)
Fallout 4 (PS4)
Stella Glow (3DS) -- Goodbye, ImageEpoch. It was a good run. You made great SRPG's, but they were never GOTY worthy!
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon (3DS) -- Much as I can appreciate Rogue, Dungeon Crawl games, the only one that's come close to being a GOTY for me was Shiren the Wanderer...
Just Cause 3 (PS4)
DariusBurst: Chronicle Saviours (PS4)
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain (PS4)
Super Time Force Ultra (PS4) -- LOVE the irreverant attitude of this game. LOVE the concept. GOTY worthy? No.
Tales from the Borderlands (PS4)
Axiom Verge (PS4)
Dying Light (PS4)
