The first mission I choose so happened to be the DLC. WOW. Yeah I wouldnt want to miss this, its a new team member, so he will be there the entire game. A must buy. Game is incredible, it is basically ME2 with some good improvements.
Archangel3371 said:They did a really good thing with the achievements. Instead of just making a few mp achievements they made them available to be had by either getting them through certain criteria online OR by doing something equivalent in single player.
That is great news, I hate multiplayer achievements. All look possible, except maybe one.
Ok since I have to play through ME2 before I start, I'm not reading this thread anymore...have fun fellas.
OMG!
I'll just say...

Really, really, really , really long spoiler warning....sorry, guys.
Thresher Maw VS. Reaper! That is all.
Those aren't enough spoilers to get the spoiler off the front page.
Played 12 hours today, loved every second. I am amazed at the detail in the game, how every choice I made in ME2 is brought up in some way. To the most smallest of choices to some that happened in DLC, a ton actually from the DLC, if you never played ME2 DLC you will be lost. Just phenomenal so far.
Foolz said:Yes, now Bear and Vader are safe.
Unfortunately, I caught it before the extra spoilers were added in there. It's OK though, I finally finished ME2 and have started 3!
So there are two missions that I played recently that simply sum up this game perfectly..In the first one, I played politics my way, with guns. The second one really sets the tone for how dire things can get.
I'm trying real hard to cover these SPOILERS!

I helped Wrex cure the GenoPhlage virus so that his race could continue. What an incredibly epic battle, with an Thresher Maw vs. Reaper battle at the end. The grand scale of this whole battle just blows my mind. And the main reason I chose to save the Krogans? To stick it to Salarians for being **** in general and not supporting my war effort. Take that! I kind of hope there's a ME4 so that we can see Krogan families and babies everywhere.
There's also the mission where I saved the Grissom Academy students. I barley survived the onslaught, with wave after wave of enemies, including relentless mechs. IU was down to one life bar, both of my allies were down and no med. packs. I trudging through very slowly, very carefully holding on for dear life, when I spot it....an empty mech. Hell yeah! I hop in and wipe out the rest of Cerberus.
I love how everything feels so dire that when you do pull off those little moments of victory, you can't help but savor them
Haven't played too much (darned real life), but really digging what I'm playing so far. Combat's kinda fun, but really enjoying some of the character moments and some of the stuff I've taken with me from ME1 & 2. Like dealing with a certain news reporter.
Kinda not digging some of the story elements, but I'm not sure if I should talk about that right about now.
I am amazed at the characters and individual stories littered throughout the game. It feels like a galaxy at war and you feel it through random conversations people have, or small disputes you help moderate. I spend hours on the Normandy talking to everyone and I love how they talk to each other through coms and such, it feels real. No game company creates characters and makes it feel real like Bioware does. i have played many RPGs, none come close and ME takes it to a whole new level because it has all been buidling for three entire games, just incredible.
MINOR SPOILERS
Like how Liara is in contact with everyone on the ship and you get to hear conversations between her and the old teamates. Javik talking about how his meeting with Mordin went was hilarious. A dispute between the news lady and a crew member. Seeing Dr. Chakwas breakdown when talking with Adams. And all the EDI stuff is fantastic.
Then there is the aspect of the science of the universe. Most games would simply grab an army and you would just have them invade. In this game when you talk to EDI about the Krogans she starts talking about how they will need transports to get them to the war front. She mentions how they will need food and supplies. She talks about how they may need medics and police for the ships cause Krogans get violent with one another in small areas. That level of detail makes me want to explore every inch and conversation cause I don't want to miss anything.
I am pretty sure I have spent more time exploring and talking than fighting right now. NO SHOOTER IS LIKE THIS. And the shooting gameplay is better than most on top of that. An incredible masterpiece.
Just finished the first major moment of the story, WOW!!!! Epic incredible stuff. There is so much variety in the enemies, it blows away ME2 in that regard. I am blown away at how all my choices have shaped this game I am playing, I have no clue what the game would resemble if I did things differently. I assume I would do the same missions but the characters would be totally different, and the emtional impact would be gone.
MAJOR SPOILER!!!
Bye to one of the best characters ever, Mordin Solis.
4th game freeze on the PS3, this one during a cutscene, how does that happen? T
Another OMFGWOWOOWOW moment! Crazy stuff going on. But there was a lot of teasing going on.
It was the attack on the citadel by cerberus and when that ninja dude showed up I was expecting an awesome boss fight! But I got a cool cutscene. Then we hop on a shuttle to start a chase, again I thought I get to play this, but nope. The elevator was awesome though. Missed oppertunities for variety in gameplay, instead it is the same combat over and over. Oh well, Thane NOOOOOOOO!!! So sad.
