Machinarium is a PC independent-developed 2-D adventure game. It's being made by Amanita Design, a Czech indie dev team, known by some popular web games.

The game revolves around a little robot who gets thrown at a scrapyard and must return to the city in order to vanquish evil and rescue his girl-robot-friend.

Gameplay video here, assholes.

It'll be available on Steam and the dev team's webpage next month. Get it, assholes.

Update: Demo here. I'll try it out later today.
System Requirements:
OS: Microsoft® Windows® XP/Vista/7
Processor: 1.8 Ghz Processor
Memory: 512MB Ram
Hard Drive: 250MB Free space

Steam Page.

Looks beautiful. Lacks a bit of humour though, is there no speech in the game?

I get the feeling that although its art is gorgeous, it might get repititive over the long haul. I need some quips and humour.

And a central hub to send letters and furniture.

I knew your soul was cold and empty.

If the puzzles are handled right, it cannot possibly get repetitive. You suck. Nyaa

i must have played a previous web game by these guys the name of which escapes me.  the art direction was identical (ie it looked like an eastern european 70ies cartoon, complete with human noises as sound effects) and the gameplay revolved around causality puzzles which you solved using just the mouse.  it also had a lot of weird worms and insects etc.  loved the look of that game and i love this one too.  thanks for the heads up steel

They could at least do some robot jokes to do with oiling up and crank shafts, no? Nyaa

Seriously is there no speech whatsover? The video was just one screen to the next. Reminds me a little of the anime Metropolis for some reason.

If he had a cane, kept leaking oil and berated everyone constantly, that would be the game right there.

Today I went to my scrapyard and took out an iron gate from the early 20th century and restored it.  No one's making a game about me though are they?
