This is Link 'n Launch, a puzzler from the good folks over at Intelligent Systems. Seems when they aren't making Fire Emblems, Advanced Wars or Paper Mario titles, these doods like to chill with some simple, classic Puzzle games. Resembling Pipe Dreams more than anything else, IGN says it "is a wonderful extension of an existing, addictive puzzle design, and there's that Intelligent Systems polish that gives it just enough personality to make it its own game. Definitely one of the top DSi games in the DSi Shop." It got a 9.0 over at IGN and goes for about $5.

A Kappa's Trail is yet another stylus-driven DSi download game, and yes, it is also $5. It --ALSO-- got an 8.5 from IGN! You draw trails for the Kappa to follow, destroying obstacles, building bridges and collecting mini-Kappas along the way. This is a VERY Japanese-flavored game, but the addictiveness and challenge is universal! It also features Wall-master-like enemies (Zelda) known as Devil Hands that hunt you in each stage, causing varying degrees of paranoia in any gamer who plays it, and has a few puzzle-like mini-games included in it to boot!

Thanks for thinking of me, Starship Defense [sic] but I can look after myself.
Coming soon:

- Trajectile
- An Art Style Overview
- Pushmo
- Sakura Samurai

Trajectile was named one of the Essential DSi-Ware Purchases for 3DS Owners! Think Breakout meets Bust-a-Move and you get a pretty good idea what to expect! For $5 you get hundreds of stages to play! It is also entirely stylus driven!

Speaking of trajectory games, this is Spotto! Spotto the Duck needs to save Chikkie Wowwow, daughter of President Wowwow, from evil ghosts! He does this by tossing bombs in their mouths... NO, I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP! Yet another highly rated game from Intelligent Systems! Like I said before simple, classic Puzzle games! It rated an '8' from IGN and is $2!

How often can you play $2 for a Nintendo game? This is Aura Aura Climber. In it, you play a fallen star trying to make his way back to the heavens. This game is a vertical platformer, you have a grappling arm and you must catch and climb pegs to reach your goal miles above. Featuring Score Attack and Endless modes, this game is most similar to Donkey Kong: King of Swing, just a bit simpler execution-wise. Very colorful graphics and "tricking" on the pegs add that special Nintendo twist to this skillful little title. IGN gave it an 8/10!

I just kind of realized that I don;t even have a DSi. I have 1 DS Fat and two DSLites... Shit I better get on an XL while I still can.
Oh just break down and get the 3DS. Then you can exchange obscene Swap Notes with the rest of us. Besides an XL is almost the same price anyway.
kappa trail is a great game, and pushmo and sakura samurai are some of the best downloadable handheld games i have played. and for 2$ aura aura climber is a fun game but gets old fast for me
Ever hear of Starship Defense or X-Scape? No? Then this topic is for you! This is about those quiet little Nintendo gems that have gone ignored. In the shadow of Mario, Metroid and Zelda it's easy for a title to be overlooked. Let's shed some light on them, shall we?

This is Starship Defense. It's a Tower Defense game available for the DSi / 3DS. It has a very cool pencil and paper look about it and tons of levels waiting to be beaten. It is entirely stylus driven, has an awesome amount of replayability to it, as you try to get "Perfects" on all of the stages and received an 8.5 rating on IGN. It goes for about $5 and is totally worth every penny!

No, this isn't BatteZone or a Virtual Boy title. This is X-Scape, another DSi-ware title from Nintendo. It's actually the sequel to a GameBoy game known as "X" that was never released in the West. This game has a very sci-fi edge to it. At times it resembles Starfox. Other times Descent. There's Tank Battle game play. There's flying over the landscape and shooting down Giant Enemy Crabs. There's zooming through tunnels avoiding closing gates and destroying turrets lining the walls. The touch screen controls your movement and aiming and is probably the best game out there to ready yourself for the upcoming, new Kid Icarus title! It got a B+ from 1UP!
