also "the wicker man" (the original with cristopher lee not the atrocious remake) is one of my favourite movies of all time, but i don't know how well it can be classified as horror

I never bothered with the Village. Heard too many bad things. I did see the original Fog though and yeah it was so bad it was funny.
I liked the Village despite the controversial twist.
I like japanese horror, well some of it.
I dont think I can reccomend anything you haven't already seen though.

severance is a british movie (i think, or just the cast is british) about a group of colleagues and their manager (some kind of sales division) who go to a remote retreat in a forest in some non-distinct eastern european country. there is some kind of maniac killer on the loose and mayhem and much hilarity follows. i (and all the friends i watched it with) thought it was great fun. there is one scene near the end which is simply priceless but i won't spoil it for you

REC, Zombie Flesh Eaters, Neon Maniacs, Bad Taste, Night of the Creeps, and Near Dark. It's been a while since I last watched most of them, so I don't know if I would still like them or not.

Any good ones you recommend? I watched a few this year which I think i mentioned in the main movie thread. One i'm not sure i mentioned which scared the shit out of me was the spanish film [rec]. I think there is an american remake either in the works or already made but probably best to stick with the original

I just watched John Carpenter's Prince of Darkness. Pretty good movie horror movie. Definitely an 80's horror flick and it comes with a lot of John Carpenter's trademark cheese, but there's so much wierd and nasty stuff going on that you can overlook a lot of it.
Also, if anyone needs a recommendation check out The Thing (1981 version) also by John Carpenter. One of my personal favorites. Creepy and perfectly paced, it's just an awesome horror movie.
I have a PS2 game of "The Thing" which I never played, I think it was based on the movie with the same name. I will make a point of watching it

Just be sure to get John Carpenter's version from the early 80's. There's a couple other versions and that is by far the best .
I'll back up Robio's The Thing recommendation. It's a very unsettling movie.
Another creepy movie (more suspense than horror, but meh) is the spanish film El Orfanato (The Orphanage).

Those two movies are the shit. Especially the end of Prince of Darkness. Also, does Assault on Precinct 13 the original count as horror.

I hated El Orfanato. It was like a shitty knock off of Guilermo Del Toro's excellent "El Espinazo del Diablo" with a dose of "the others"

Oh and if you want a fun horror movie (and somehow made it to this point of your life without seeing it) go watch Dead Alive. Screw Lord of the Rings, it's Peter Jackson's finest work.
