Post in here and I'll update the initial thread as more awards are made public. Â So far we have:
1UP.com: JanuaryÂ
Destructoid:Â Uncharted 2 (PS3) "No other videogame this year possesses more moments that will make your jaw drop to the floor. No other videogame offers a better presentation. And, most importantly, no other videogame exemplifies what it means to be a videogame. "
Eurogamer:Â Uncharted 2 (PS3)
G4TV: Uncharted 2 (PS3)
gameinformer.com: January
Gamespot.com: Demon's Souls (PS3) "Demon's Souls is an extraordinary blend of the old and the new, and the result is so distinctive that it's hard to even find games to compare it to."
GamePro: Assassins Creed II (Multi) "In short, it simply came down to taste."
GameSpy: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (Multi)
Gametrailers:Â Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (Multi)
Gamesradar: Batman: Arkham Asylum (360, PS3) "...it defied industry expectations and shattered our cynical assumptions of how a game like this should turn out."
Giantbomb:Â Uncharted 2 (PS3)
IGN: January 13
Spike VGA: Uncharted 2 (PS3) "Umm, we don't do text."
VGPress: Little King's Story (Wii)
Give your VGPress vote in this thread, I'll keep a tally going. Â For our award it should be a game released in 2009 (as opposed to any personal qualifications).
I do like that this year so far the press has really been all over the place with the games they've announced. There aren't those two or three dominant games that will be on every single list kind of how last year was with GTA4 and MGS4.
There's still five-and-a-half days left of 2009, so there's still a small chance that I'll play something even more amazing than I already have. I'll wait until the 31st to decide.

That's true. Night Sky is supposed to show up on WiiWare this year and there is still 1 week to go for it. Guess I'll know tomorrow.
I expected you to say fuck the rules and try to give it to TWEWY for a second year in a row.
Well he did break the rules, he picked a game that was released in 1991

By the way, all you Little King's fans stay away from that topic! It was a great game and I enjoyed it, but...
You should put a warning for Zelda fans too, seeing that you ranked the inferior Okami and not a single Zelda game. But you are forgiven by ranking Zero Mission and Prime. But Vader will definitely not agree.

No, it's not, it's Demon's Souls. Search your feeling you know it to be true

VGPress Votes:Â
Little King's Story: 3
Uncharted 2: 2
Dragon Age: 1
Street Fighter IV: 1
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2: 1
Rune Factory: Frontier: 1
Ghostbusters: 1
NyxQuest: 1
Persona 4 (PAL): 1
Ah there will be more Mario games, so LKS for me too.
I'm throwing down for Rune Factory: Frontier.

Did you expect anything else from me?
Yes, I hoped you would join me and Foolz and give LKS its first award.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
What else would you expect from me.
I expected you to say fuck the rules and try to give it to TWEWY for a second year in a row.
Seriously? That's creepy.
Link me and I'll see how small minds think alike.
Maramusa.
My choice is Uncharted 2.
I edited my post above.
I'm going with UC2, since I have not yet played LKS or NSMW to see if they qualify.
Okay, I'll look in the usual places to see if I can find it.
Maramusa? Never heard of it! Is that something like Metamucil?
Now, MURAMASA... THAT'S a GREAT GAME!
...you can see where it stands among my favorites for the whole decade here!
By the way, all you Little King's fans stay away from that topic! It was a great game and I enjoyed it, but...

Oh the game was overrated. Let them cry about it all they want.

So what's your choice now? NSMBWii?
