Sounds liek a good idea. I think the podcast adds to the site greatly and I enjoy each issue, but the cross-talk cut out does hurt the quality so maybe doing regional shows will help out.
But you'd need someone on the euro cast to do the circus rigmastery that Jamie does currently, and that's a big job.
if we need a third wheel for and AU version I'd be down for it, but I'd want to test my audio quality b4 doing a full show given my remoteness.
We could also try alternate hosts, and see who's the best at it.

Indeed.
This needs GG.
Someone will have to send him a headset first, I bet.

He'll want to use his wii-speak conference phone.

So lets do a Euro podcast starring people not from Europe. It would be perfect.

Let's do a spanish podcast, vader.

Yes, we should all do the Euro podcast with bad british accents.

That's what I was thinking
For the same cost as a mic I can afford the next volume in the classic 80s TMNT dvds.

Just fake all the accents. Steel could fake for Spanish, others could do British, German etc. There is this guy in Sam and Max who does this hilarious american/british accent.
I will see if there are any mics in the local supermarket today.

Mate, Steel doesn't need to fake Spanish.
I can do Irish or British accents. Also after playing GTA4 I can do Serbian (or is he Croatian)?
But to restore this to the original point, I think there would be meirt in doing a EU, NA/CA/SA, & AU version, then we could go weekly without burning out anyone.
But from listening, hosting the podcast in the way DarthHomer does is not a simple thing, it requires a lot of prep.
I do think that this site has two major features:
1. The Big Board of News (ggweekly).
2. The cosmopolitan (or merely diverse) origin of those who post.
So given the later benefit I think having multiple region-based casts would underscore/ exemplify one of our strengths.
What I'd be interested in is seeing us get essentially a second podcast going on the Press Room's off-weeks for more time availability, primarily European-centric for timing. Our scheduling is rather restrictive doing it North America / Australia, causing problems getting everyone else in, and then it all falls apart. Just setting it up separately I think would work.
This of course doesn't bar non-Europeans from taking part--it's about a difference in priorities. It would also open up more flexibility for those further west in North America.
On the technical side, it could actually be rather simple. With the utilities I have now, I can stay logged into Skype with auto-answer calls and auto-record, so as long as my computer's on, you can just add me to the conversation and it will record right to me for the editing.
Do we have enough interest to make this happen?
