This game looks good. I never played the original so I don't have the hype level up. Will probably get when cheaper though it's on a list of games I should be playing but for one reason or other I'm not.

GG Deus Ex is a masterpiece at the level of MGS games. They don't play the same way at all but it's that level of stealth goodness (well you can play how you want, total freedom.)

Its cheap on steam.

Get it now GG. Fucking truly great game. This ain't no Half-Life bullshit. And if you don't like it at first give up and try again later. I found the beginning pretty boring and gave up, but when I came back to it and forced my way through it it was great.

Played through the first main mission, its Deus Ex! They nailed the feel of the game so all fans of the original will feel right at home. I spent like an hour simply exploring the office building where I work and uncovering worker affairs and some dude stealing supplies. The shooting feels average compared to most shooters but that is probably cause you arent supposed to run around and shoot people. I have found that silently killing every one is hard so far cause I have no silenced weapons yet and your melee takedown takes up energy so you can only do one every minute or so. Once I get my powers going I am sure I wiill be able to take out a room easy.

Now compared to the first games first mission at the Statue of Liberty this games first mission was way smaller in scope. I wonder if that is indicative of the whole game, will we see giant areas to mess around with or will they be more building like, inside with many hallways like this first mission was. Who knows.

Its very cinematic, the intro feels like the start of an awesome sci-fi movie. I can definetly tell its going to be one hell of a game.

Loving it...I also beat the 1st mission...and wandered around just looking at shit.

The game is set up on PC for my exact specs and ATI crossfire....so it looks fucking amazing and runs like a dream.

LOL

I started the first one a while ago, but gave up too soon. Everybody seems to love this one as well.

Two more sets of impressions:
I spent over 4 hours just exploring the city and doing a few side quests. There is so much packed in this game, it has so much detail. Maybe too much, the original feels faster in that you can explore a giant area quicker since there aren't a ton of rooms that can be opened, computers that can be hacked, people to talk to. I know all that is optional but I like to see every inch of the game. There are some cool stuff in some of the random side computers but for the most part its just extra money or something. I really enjoy the hacking minigame, it can be quite a challenge at times. I really feel like I am hacking something rather than just pushing a button like the original. Also people care if they see you hacking their computer, in the original I would hack stuff right in front of them. I have done so much exploring that I feel like I cant even comment much on the action yet.
...
They really nailed this one, its so much like the original. I recently upgraded my strength so now I am moving dumpsters around and finding all new paths. I see a big fence I cant get over, I just stack dumpsters until I can jump over it. Oh and launching them at people is fun too.
I was talking to a friend of mine and we were discussing the first mission and how different his playthrough was. Because I spend so much time in the office building all the hostages were dead when I got there, apparently I missed out and a whole side quest.
I find myself dying a bunch of times just to do a certain area over and over to see what kind of stuff I can do. And GME I guess its easy to an extent, they definetly give you the tools to be very stealthy but if they catch you it takes like two bullets to kill you. I think the difficulty is just fine. I am playing the way I do MGS my first time, just to experiment and have fun trying to kill as many guards as possible but without being seen.

Yes, there are only two Deus Ex games, everyone that says otherwise is a liar. Don't be fooled by the photo's they might use as evidence, all lies.

THIS GAME!

I will have a bigger description later but I just wanted to say this, I hacked a turret, turned it against the bad dudes, it killed everyone in the room. I have super strength so I decided to try to pick up the turret, you can, I can carry this giant ass turret around with me and it will auto shoot any bad guy that comes in range.

This game is getting soooo damn good. Buy the strength aug and punch through walls, believe me its a blast. In one mission I confronted this dude in his appartment, he opened fire so I picked up his fridge, used it as a shield and when I got a good line of sight i launched the fridge at him to knock him out.

When you get punch through walls all of a sudden you create new routes through a level. I ended up in what seemed like a dead end but then I saw it was a place where I can punch the wall, well I did, snapped the dudes neck how was behind it. Another guy was stunned at what happended and before he could react I quickly head shot him.

In another scenario I punch through the wall killing some dude, everyone else heard it so they came to inspect, saw the dead body and started to go on alert. Well they all came to that spot so it allowed me to sneak around passed them all. I entered another building, quickly did a takedown on one guard, went to the next room. It had two guards, I hid until the right moment did the takedown on one but the other guard saw me, he shouted out, now everyone is coming at me. I quickly headshot the guard in front of me, take his shotgun and get into cover. Three dudes start to come though the door so I throw a frag grenade, blows them up. I then run full speed at the door and use the shotgun on a guard that was about to come in, he goes flying. I spin around to see another guy coming around the corner, shoot him and then hunt down the last dude and blast him in the face. The gunplay feels powerful, its really really good and it mixes with the stealth so well. I basically took down all guys in that area in like 10 seconds.

Phenomenal game!
