Played the prologue of Bayonetta. WTF? Angels, The Kingdoms of Heaven, Hell and Man...
I pressed pause and looked at the box to see if I just hadn't reached a different stage in Darksiders...
What's with the Heaven vs. Hell / Good vs. Evil schtick lately?
...two games released on the same day with such similarities? Weird.

Love the movie but the game is terrible.
Get your meds ready, cause you know Avatar is going to outsell them.
Oh and I just have to say that, although I like Mark Hamil's voice acting, it's a little weird how he's using his Joker voice for the two characters in Darksiders.
He's a good actor so I would think he can do more than one character's voice!
Anyway, great game!

Alright, I see the Zelda comparisons. The dungeons are similar.
It's still not Zelda but it's good enough, which is why I'm enjoying this more than Bayonetta...although I can play Bayonetta for hours just staring at that butt of hers!

Is there a butt cam?
Quote from Destructoid's 9.0 - Superb - Review:
"Darksiders is one of the best action adventure games of the current generation. Everything in it, you've played before, but never has such a collection of game mechanics been stitched together so well, not to mention feel like part of a coherent game world. Everything that is in Darksiders feels like it belongs there, and makes sense. Altogether, fans of action games owe it to themselves to check out this memorable, lovingly crafted, and simply fun title. Vigil is going to achieve great things if this debut is to become its standard."

Just played a sequence where I stole a flying Angelic Steed, rode on it's back in the Panzer Dragoon sequence you may/may not have heard of. It was fun, but short and totally a tribute to that game!
Just past there was the Twilight Temple Cathedral. It feels like the first true dungeon of the game. It has keys, it has a map, it has puzzles to solve and a boss to fight. It even has bomb plants!
All throughout the dungeon, you see the steed you stole fighting against Tiamat, the Bat-Queen who's heart you need to rip out and present to Samael!
Yep, the game even has a special, short musical clip when you solve a puzzle or discover a secret!
I'm waiting to see if I need to discover a Boss-Key or not --AND-- I am an intrigued to know what Key Item or Weapon I am going to get in the dungeon... The Hookshot? The Boomerang? We'll see!

The Twilight Temple Cathedral is a Zelda Dungeon through and through! I have just been playing for an hour and 45 minutes straight and I am just now at the point where I can fight Tiamat (i think!)...
I've had to Find Crystal Swords to arm Statues to open gates. I've had to discover my first Tool/Weapon, the Crossblades (Boomerang). I've had to use this Crossblade to light Torches and ignite Dormant Bombs. I've defeated the Jailer mid-boss (depicted below)...
...I've climbed the walls, Rotated Bridges, Knocked off pieces of armor from Ice-Axe Wielding Skeleton Knights and eviscerated many, many bats. Not to mention beheading a Poisoned Behemoth... which then exploded, killing me unexpectedly...
...AND THIS IS THE FIRST REAL DUNGEON...
GET A CLUE PEOPLE! THIS IS NOT A GAME TO WAIT TO GO BUDGET! GET IT. GET IT! GET. IT. ! ! !

Well said!
OMG. It took me over a dozen tries to kill Tiamat ! ! !
She was the Boss of the FIRST. DUNGEON. WTH is wrong with me?!
I knew I had to take her down with the Crossblades and some bombs, but MY GOD...! I kept on getting hit by her fire breath, her atomic drops or simply when she would swing her claws! Imagine fighting Gohma a dozen times! This is embarrassing!

Ripped out her heart, brought it back to Samael via a worm hole provided by Vulgrim. Had an interesting turn of events that brought out my Chaos form.

Then I got to a sunken city...
Have I also mentioned yet that this game came be almost photo-realistically pretty sometimes? The use of color, the attention to details in the environment sometimes. I must say I am totally impressed! Even the cut-scenes are of higher production value than you would think! I have had more than a few jaw dropping moments with this game. Completely unexpected, pleasant surprise (just like everything else in this game)!

So that means I will beat it on my first try with no issues right.
Sounds cool, still budget price. You burned me on Deadly Creatures Leo.
Alright, you forced my hand!
The secret game tribute that the authors of the reviews left out for fear it wouldn't work is this:
At one point in the game, War has to infiltrate the Sterling Fairy Forest. He needs to befriend the Half-Animal, Half-Human Race that lives there. Three minutes after getting off the bus into town, he is given a job by Beezlebub Cockknocker.
I said: PUT. ON. YOUR. RED. APRON!
Yes, Mr. Cockknocker... *grumble*

After meeting everyone in animal town, War is given his own home to renovate.
This is my fucking house?! I don't even get a bed and a crappy table?! C'mere Hawk-Man, I'm gonna rip your fucking wings off!
Here is War, helping his neighbor, Mr. Rockypants out of a trap that some mischievous scamp left in the ground!

You get to design your own wall-paper patterns, trade collectible couches, send letters to your best friends in Mexico! This game truly has it all!
This is War getting to know his friend Mrs. Winniepoofs. They are visiting Mayor Zombiemort! Awww!
"Oh Noes, Mrs. Winniepoofs! How will we ever get our grass to grow here?!"
"Zoinks! It's OK War, Honey. GG will find a way...!"

I wasn't going to spoil it, but the majority of the game isn't Zelda-like at all! War brought about the end of the world and now he's going to make it right!
Oooo! A rare June-Bug...!
Errr... I'm gonna need a bigger net...
