I'm at 137 hours and still have most of the 4th act to do! Just had my first sex scene, penis floppin' around and all, with a character none of you even know about yet... My party walked in on us and the look on their faces... 🤣
I couldn't even tell you if I'm walking a good path or bad path right now... The partner I was with said I was "complicated..."

How did it take you so long?! I'd had 3 sex scenes by the time I was halfway through act 1.

Historically, Leo plays with a very puritanical mindset. A reflection of his real world values I suppose.

It's going to end up being my most played RPG just from one playthrough. Been using Shadowheart, Gale and Astarion, so I can't carry much. My character is a rock gnome warlock (archfey), so of course I use eldritch blast all the time.
By Miu Watanabe.
Finally about to finish act 1, I'm at the point of no return and did every side quest. Not much I can say, it's a game where almost anything is possible and every character is great. Plus every class is viable and useful in their own way, I actually like to use everyone. I am trying to bed shadow heart but lizard lady basically had me by force lol. One night I had shadow heart, laezel, Asterion and Gale all waiting on me to decide who to go to bed with, horny ass group. Why don't you fuck amongst yourselves.
Well into act 2 now and this game is hitting its stride. The story is picking up, there are some choices that feel impossible to make, the weight of so many on you. Every character has so much depth and have a great story of their own to complete. The options for party builds are endless, so many ways to play, all viable. Every encounter is a joy with so many ways to complete it. I am trying to do as much as I can in one run and already have gone back to see if I missed stuff and man there are some wild story changes.
Clearly a masterpiece.
I look forward to playing this when it is inevitably ported to Switch 3.

Lol me too. Maybe they will call that one the Switch U
Don't like the amount of enemies they're throwing into battles now. It's such a pain waiting for them to all take their turn. It'd be nice if they could have come up with a better way to create a challenge. I feel like the encounter design is getting weaker and weaker the deeper I get into the game. There were some creative moments early on, but now it's just: add more enemies, and is in general pretty crap. The other annoyances I've had I can live with this, but this is starting to suck a bit.
4 months and 201 hours later, I have finished one of the best games of all time!

I don't know, the one massive battle I was in was really cool and it makes you use AoE spells and spells to take off certain pieces for some time. I never had an issue with large groups. My issue is I'm finding it too easy right now, I just moved to tactician and we will see where that goes.
So I finished act 2 and I am head over heels for this game. I love all the characters, each seem to have a compelling story, all have good varied personalities. One of my favorite things about RPGs are the large parties with interesting characters, this is up there with some of the greats and it fixes one of the problems I had with the limited party of DoS. When I started the game I was opposed to the dice roll, opposed to limited spell slots, didn't get resting. Well now I LOVE the dice! I love all of it, this game has introduced me to D&D in a way nothing has, I always knew of it but never delved into it. Now I am reading up on the lore, watching real life D&D sessions on YouTube, it's all so cool.
As great as the story is, it's the gameplay that keeps me so engaged. It's a game where I never know what will happen next, what strategy can I employ, how many ways can one scenario play out. I have managed to talk demons into killing their own men and committing suicide. I've befriended enslaved beasts and managed to start a uprising. Every character opens so many possibilities, each level up expands the move set in such a way that it's like a flower in a constant state of blooming, opening more and more layers. I can't praise this enough, it's the best translation of a Role playing game to a video game I have ever seen.
The only thing that would hold this back from 10/10 status for me is I love me some glove trotting adventure in RPGs, I like airships and traveling many areas. This feels very focused and its design is nearly identical to DoS that it almost feels like a copy. Also I know Larian is a smaller studio, but man the cutscenes for big action moments are rough, it looks like a bad stage play. Could you imagine this kind of game with the scale and budget of FF. That would be a dream.

Tell me about your adventure, who you were and general stuff, no act 3 spoilers.
I was a custom Warlock. My final party for the last battle was myself, Astarion, Gale, Karlach and another...
There's so many twists and turns, especially in the 3rd act, it's hard to say much without spoiling things. When I have another minute, I'll try...
Listening to down under pod and your BG3 review, damn I wish I was on, that would have been fun. So I'll talk about your points here.
Polish, obviously depends on PC, but I have had no issues. Maybe a crash or two but never losing saves or having weird glitches.
Agreed on gameplay, the fun is how you can experiment with the environment. The part I don't agree is I love turn based and yes I get you may have to wait and watch many enemies move but I enjoy it. I am usually very tense wondering what they will do.
Everyone does look like a model lol.
Having every party member have full dialogue for the main quest would be insane, I can't get upset at them for not doing that. They expect most people to play as an "avatar". Plus all these dialogue options do take into account race, class and relationships, so even if it's a party member that isn't voice acting fully like they usually do, the choices are tailored to their class if it's something that is relevant to that conversation.
The story is nothing to write home about, it's classic generic fantasy. It's fun, exciting, has loads of twists and turns but it ain't making you examine life in a new way. It's not asking questions. You aren't learning anything. It's a summer movie romp.
How is there no thread for this game, well it's awesome. It took me a while to get into it but once I got Astarion and made a team with Lea'zel, I started to dominate the battlefield. Rogues are insane, I just split Astarion from the team and he sneaks around backstabbing and one hit killing a bunch of dudes before the fight even starts. When it does he is sneak attacking everyone, it's wild. I was trying to use magic but screw that my fighter does so much more damage.
My best combat moment was when I went into Auntie Ethel's lair with my team not resting after a while so I was very low on spells. One battle was against some guards, I distracted them with an illusion and then did the swarm of sword spell on them so they would continuously take damage after I did a surprise attack. Then I turned the floor into oil so they would slip and fall in that same spot. I wiped them out without them even attacking. After that I had to navigate a trap filled dungeon, I used a scroll of no fall damage to jump down to safety to avoid traps. Finally got to the main battle which was a long slow fight cause I had no spells, but still came out victorious. That whole sequence I had to use my wits and great planning to win.
The world is so rich and interesting. I randomly got summoned by a devil who wants to make a deal with me. I discovered what was making the loud grunting sex noises coming from the barn... don't look. I'm still deciding what to do with the druids, that's the big act 1 decision. I'm loving all the team members, lots of interesting stories between them, especially Gale. What a game!
