3 typos sure, but still makes sense.
Let me break it down for you.

"Meh, don't really care either way. (I would not mind if a new generation of video game consoles was to begin now, nor would I mind if it did not.) I'll jsut ignroe the new consoles if they come out now and work on catching up with Wii games. (If a new gen was to begin, I would not buy a new console or any of the new consoles' games, and instead catch up on the ridiculous amount of Wii games that have come out recently.)

Then again I've said that before every gen, and it never seems to wokr out that way. Nyaa(However, this has been my philosophy before the beginning of most generations of new consoles, and it has been a philosophy I have not yet followed successfully.)

I am so proud of you! You learn so fast!

What Browser are you using? Opera has a auto spell check! (it will not check grammar, so you are still not save from Yoda)

It is already established that you are a wuss, but this post further exemplifies that. A real man would throw that brick with all his might and then walk all over the shards, BAREFOOTED, like Bruce Willis in Die Hard.

I'll remember that for further reference...

Oh, my! Look at this! It seems you're not using Opera either! ;P

Save is still correctly spelled penis, but it is the wrong word LOL

Firefox. The thing about typos is you can generally still understand the post. The same can not always be said when substituting one word for another. Nyaa

However in that case I still can. And presumably you can too. WinkWink

Anyway I also don't really care about the Wii becoming HD. I don't really feel that better graphics adds a whole lot to most PS3 games tbh. Especially when the art style in most of them is so boring.

You're looking at games from a graphical hardware perspective. What about hardware that changes the experience? For instance before you heard about the 3DS you probably never wanted a 3d handheld.

Before Wii was announced you probably never wanted a motion or IR controller. Before DS you probably never envisioned a touch screen for gaming. What if one of the big three comes up with something compelling enough to change up the experience and become the next big thing? Just because we can't imagine it, doesn't mean that Willy Wonka can't.

There's nowhere for HD systems to go? Take me to the Holodeck already. Nyaa

We are getting add-ons to our current consoles for that stuff. At this point if they start a new gen this year, it is just for the sake of selling a new system, there will be nothing so crazy new that warrants a whole new system generation.  By the end of every previous generation you could see it clearly, you can see what future games should look like, I dont see any of that yet.

^PC's used to to be previews of the future?  What's there now? (That's a serious question).

As far as i know, Crysis which was released back in 2007, is still the ultimate graphics/performance test for PCs.  doesn't seem many developers are willing to push that envelope further.  most, like valve, seem happy with what a mid-range PC and the HD consoles can do (which is not to say that is not impressive)

 No you're getting motion.

3D with PS3, if you want to spend thousands on a new TV.

There's all sorts of crazy shit we can't imagine that could be done with new consoles, we're just waiting for them to show us.

Not this year though, please.

I've heard parts of Just Cause II are a step ahead of Crysis.

But I dont want new stuff on old tech, if we get a new gen it need to have a graphical upgrade, but I dont see where it can go. What new stuff do you have in mind that does not involve motion control or 3D gaming cause my PS3 will be able to do both. I don't see anything interesting happening for another 2-3 years.

Correct, the PC are getting more powerful, but there is no incentive to further push technological barriers in games. More powerful PC are still being developed for simulation and engineering work, but it seems we reached a peak in games, for now!

 Crysis for one.

The levels are huge, free roaming and fully destructible. Plus the graphical detail blows away any console game.

How many PS3 games run at 60 frames at 1080P and have huge open worlds that is fully destructible?

Or course you will deny that that does not constitute a generational leap, but who cares. Your original statement was that PS3 and 360 has no way to go power wise. Crysis proves you wrong.

How many games will actually support the new move controller? Not many I wager. Do you really think they will keep making add ons for all these different controllers?

There is more to technology than raw power. The next PS may have motion control as a standard, which is very important. It may be designed to be cheap and efficient in power use and programming. It may be very quiet or small. It may have an altogether different architecture. There are plenty of things you can do that does not require much additional power. Case in point the Wii.

The fact that you have to use some 3 year old  game as your example proves that we have not moved an inch in years in terms of tech. Plus Crysis 2 will be on consoles, will it run perfectly, probably not but it will still look close to the PC version. So if that is the very best the PC can do, why move to a new generation? Where is that example of something. So yeah Crysis does not prove me wrong, try again. And I would actually love to see something, so if I am missing a game please show me cause I would honestly love to be wowed.

There isn't the incentive to actually push things on PC.  Aside from cutting back your already limited base by increasing requirements, you also then cut out (reasonable) console ports and all kinds of other crap.  It's not nearly as financially viable as it once was.  It doesn't mean that computing power and video cards have been at a standstill.

More power may not mean insanely better graphics compared to the BEST of the BEST today but it will mean that less technically capable developers can achieve just as good results easier. Just like games today are more or less games of yesterday, just shinier. They can be shined even further basically. Like the realistic water of Just Cause 2 on PC. Sure, you're fine with the 360 version, but you certainly won't say no to it when the next system comes and every game can look just as good, not just in its water, but everything else. And those who do the BEST of the BEST today will certainly be able to wow you much further with more power. Not to mention even larger scale worlds, even more extensive use of physics, more complicated AI, ideal frame rates for all games regardless of the shit they try to put on screen at a time, and all that jazz. Not all games look as good as the very best today, either due to less capable developers, or due to the different goals they have which means they require more power for certain elements and have less power to push visuals with. That will no longer be an issue eventually, the most physics-driven  complex sandbox game ever could look just as sharp and good as a 1 on 1 beat em up that puts all the power of the system on just 2 characters, so more power will certainly be useful. That doesn't mean there's a reason to go to next gen prematurely of course, plenty of life left in this gen. And not every game needs to make full use of power, plenty of low end PC games are lovely for example. Here's a sample:

That is a beautiful game. Mostly that is what I mean, games still look beautiful, games can still blow us away. I still find new games that make me go "WOW!" and just sit there staring at them. By the end of the PS2 era things were starting to feel old. There were a few standouts like RE4. That said I even think that gen started too soon cause the first few 360 games didn't feel that much of a leap. It wasn't till Gears hit and some others where this gen started to take off. If we change now it's too soon, there is still so much we can get out of this gen.

Sample was meant to be for next gen sampling, it's a DX11 benchmark, ie only the latest PC hardware can run that, and not even always smooth, and it's not even a game so skips having any calculations games do, just to show visuals. So yeah that puts Crysis to shame in complexity really, plenty of room for extra power to improve things, you can see every freaking individual stone on the road and there's basically no texture flaw in sight whatsoever Nyaa
