I play the drums. On my own buttocks.
It's not very musical but it beats some feeling back into them.
I've been playing the piano for some time. I'm not sure how long, but probably not a year. My sister is teaching me in fact, but unfortunately due to various issues she can't give me lessons as often as would be best, and I'm too lazy to teach myself new songs, so things are going slower than they should have been. But still quite fast supposedly. >_>

After the effort of beating the crap out of them. Literally.

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobile...!
Dammit... Robio...!
Talk about stealing someone's thunder!
My BF and I bought a digital piano last week, he is a guitar player but wanted to try it. I will try playing it too, it will help me playing violin as I have troubles with rhythm and hand independence.
Still, it's kinda weird to think that I began to play because of wii music and that I'm able to continue playing because of videogames. After all if I'm able to grind monsters for hours to get a particular drop, musical scales should not be much difficult ^^
i think i'm somewhat tone-deaf. through the years i've moved away from listening to music by ear and towards listening by the gut. what i mean is i'm much more interested in beats, bass-lines and atmospheres... as such i no longer have any interest in any of the "lead" instruments including vocals. when i was younger i took lessons in playing the classical guitar and was decent enough when I put the practice in but i hated most of the stuff i was having to learn so gave up.
nowadays i piss about with musical software like ableton live (and even korg-10 DS ) though, and at times I wish i was better skilled with a keyboard as that could be useful to me (even as a midi controller).

The only reason I came into this thread was to see who made the "mouth organ" joke.

You mean, a keyboard?

Edit: so what he said?
Apparently Keyboard in French is what I call "Synthétiseur", I didn't buy that because there is no weighted keys and no difference in the sound if you hit the key softly or not. >_> It's really like a piano but you can play in silence, and that's really nice <3
(just kidding, I'm not depressed that much ^^' )
I began violin one year ago without any musical luggage whatsoever and I must admit that I was really unsure of my capacity of playing it and more than everything keeping on playing it. I'm quite used of trying stuff and then forget it a few week after, but I managed to keep playing violin (having a private teacher helped a lot though )
No need to say, I'm still awfully bad at it. Violin is definitely a really ungrateful instrument. After one year, the sounds I'm able to produce are still not smooth enough to be nice to hear. But well, neighbours are not complaining that much!
And you, are you playing an musical instrument? For how long?
